Default Red Dye

Hullo. Can any one tell me how I can make bright red dye? The standard red is rather dull on my Mesmer.

Can't really brighten dye. You can really only lighten/darken.

What you can try to do is mix other dyes and try to get a "bright red" look to it. Try orange as a base color. I've never really tried getting a brighter look to a dye.

Hope this helps.

I mixed blue with silver, and then silver again, and then put it on my torso armor. It was real bright. Looks good. If you have the dye and/or money, could try just one silver, and then if thats not to your liking, try adding two like I did to my blue. I plan on doing silver to red when I get my max armor because red in Guild Wars isn't really red, its leaning tword like maroon or swomething, so I plan on lightrening it myself. Try it out, see what you can get. Good luck. Hope your memsmer ends up Bad Ass! \m/

well, try mixing the red dye with Dye Remover, or with silver dye, like Nova said.

Be careful on using Dye remover, as it simply acts as the base color of the armor. It does not have any inherent lightening properties.

Which type of armor are you trying to get bright red? The dye combo will depend on that. I know for the 15k Tormentors I bought, I tried to get it bright red but it seems you can dye that armor bright anything.
Also mixing red with silver would just make it pale/pink wouldn't it?

Green + Dye remover rusults in a bright neon kinda green on my Warriors Ascalon armor, and I know Blue + Dye remover makes 15k Glad bright blue.

The base colour of the mesmer outfits is pretty muted - reds go very burgundy. Doubt you'll manage, sorry
