Try this (this is how I have mine setup and it works fine): "C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -password "insert password here"

Useful piece of info, Anyone know the syntax for user name selection? 3 different accounts, was going to create 3 different shortcuts with the user names in each so that I could log onto any of the accounts via shortcut.

Hi,

Since we are talking about stolen and/or hacked GW acoounts, you have to know that saving both your account name AND password on your computer can be very dangerous.
You're trying to put both account name and password into a shortcut that is placed on your Desktop. You'd be surprised to know how easy it is for a hacker to get to that information. In my opinion, the above suggested way of starting GW is just asking for trouble.

Even if you only save the password into your GW shortcut, the game itself will remember your account name. There you have it, if somebody knows where to look,
they'll get your account name and password very easily, no keylogger needed!

The best is just to type in your password by hand, it won't take that long, and it gives you a bit of extra security.

Just my 2 cents.

But, a keylogger is much easier to pick up then a random hacker.

Account not found: maybe you were hacked, and the hacker changed the email address accociated with your account. Entirely possible, and it would say "account not found" even tho it exists

Yeah man you've got to look out for those hackers risking jail time and fines who just go around hacking random peoples guildwars accounts!

Accounts don't get hacked. Anyone with the actual resources and skill to hack into an account is spending his resources and skills on something that actually means something. Some idiot downloading a keylogger isn't getting hacked, you chose to download it when you googled "Guildwars Dupe Hack" or whatever the f**k it was.

I hate people, I'm going to become a hermit.

You don't think someone can hack someone's account, even w/ "thier resources" and what if hacking into someone's acct meant something to that hacker?

If you irritate the wrong person ingame.. and that person knew said skills then it could be likely that such a person could hack into your account.. kinda takes the randomness away.. from the hacker's pov..

It sucks... and starting fresh sucks too but i believe it can happen.

no one would be able to take your password unless you let them on your computer such as a friend or family member. i personally don't believe that people with the actual skills to hack themselves and not use ready-made 'hacks' (keyloggers, trojans, etc) are out to get your guild wars account, it would be much more self-benifitting for them to steal your identity or something else of the sort, which they would have access to anyways if your stupid enough. The only thing that you would have to be worried about is that you actually use the same password and username for everything so they could check your e-mail and password for guildwars and perhaps find your online bank account. but once again, they wouldn't check your shortcut unless they knew to look there, therefore don't tell anyone you know on a personal basis and you shouldn't have to worry.

>edit<

on a side note, i know several people who don't have to use ready-made hacks but they only use their skills if you tick them off, and if you successfully do that, i assure you they are not after your guild wars account.
