Yes, 1,000k which is 1 million gold.

Each character can hold 100k. If you have Prophecies and Factions together, the most you can have is 1,600k until we're able to buy additional character slots.

But I doubt you will get to that point any time soon, you have many things to spend it on, weapons, stuff, armor, magic items, all that good stuff.

Because variables require memory. The bigger the space in a variable, the more space you need to store it. Also, the limit could be 10, 100, 1000 million, someone would eventually fill it and complain they haven't got enough room.

and the fact that they know that no one actually needs that much money for anything. I mean, it's nice to have, but not needed.

Buy a stack(s) of rare goods if you are running out of bank storage and hope their value doesn't go down too much in the future. Either way, you can then put more gold in the bank.

There is a reason that not a lot of gold is obtainable. ANET wants the economy to remain stable, in that it doesn't want insanely rich players to dominate the economy because they're able to spend much more on good items. They do this in several ways, including the 100k single trade cap, and through the addition of many perfect collector/crafter weapons. For the rich players, ANET has added many gold "sinks" such as the guild hall upgrades, and high-level armors. These in no way give rich players an advantage, which is the way the game intends it.

It did... a lot... Ecto used to be well over 10k each, I remember when it was ~18k each, for a short while (right after the aoe nerf, coincidence?) Just before factions it fell, and has continued down since.

I just got to 1000k today...kinda sad, I thought it was limitless.

Then again, if you see this from the logic side...

ok, i used to hate the idea of a limit of gold in the storage until i realized that one player can just gather up hundreds of millions of gold in a year or so, and tehn mess up tehn whole gw economy by buying EVERYTHING that is needed.

but one thing i would really like is if they made the limit 10 million knowing that getting gold is a lot easier now than it used to be in the early part of GW.

I don't really see a point in making storage hold more than a mil. I do believe that I've only ever had about 60k between 6 characters at any time, and I've never had a problem getting what I need to play the game. Heck, I've even managed a few vanity items. So, I really don't see the point.
