Do you think GW actually looks at our suggestions?

I red some interview on another post the GW staff dude saying he listens to the people who play the game on ideas. I dont recall anyone in the suggestion thread asking for -X recieved damage to be converted to physical damage, and dont see how anyone could use and abuse the -X recieved damage, I understand the Absorption rune think they made it physical only because market price went downhill for it, but for shields and stuff, dont understand why GW would change it, nobody really asked for it. In Factions, I think they only added a couple of things mission types, and Alliance Battle.

^ best point ever.

Just because "the people" want something or dont like something, doesn't mean they think the same. Remember they test things and see stuff form a much broader view than us.

yeah ok i see, but if you have a thousand of ideas, a couple should get accepted which I also believe.

I see a lot of people talking about how that new update recieved damage being converted into physical damage, its only been 2 or 3 days, and already 200 people are pissed and did something, thats ONLY this site, knowing GW staff from there actions, I dont think there going to listen to us. If a thousand of people want something and you need the people for revenue or money, and I was GW Staff, I would give them the recieved damage back, rather than just inhale it, for a month hoping it goes away.

I'm still wondering how they mysteriously knew to fix the bug with Moebius Strike and put in the NPC to change the shields that were screwed up in yesterday's update. Because it certainly can't be because they listen to us...

People always fuss about updates that weaken them...they get over it in a few days and life goes on.

Balanced updates to Anet aren't always the same as what a biased warrior thinks is balanced.

And people getting mad shouldn't influence their staff at all. I'm sure everyone would just like to be given 1million gold coins, but the staff would never be pressured into doing that.

Simple fact is that most of the people on OUR side are biased and/or uneducated on the subject of most things that need balancing. All we can do is reconize something is getting overpowered or popular and leave it to them to balance it.

Actually, IDK how many people actually know that the vs everything stats have changed besides the main pvp'ers. How many people really look at the updates, I wonder...

I understand why they would fix something, but why change something that doesnt need the fixing? I think they are making the warriors feel like the worst class ever. Do you think they will give warriors +2 energy in a update? I dont think so, I bet they will give them 60 armor in some update later on.

It was their thought that warriors did not need the -dmg to effect elementalist dmg for balance reasons.

This is prime example...as a warrior you feel you DESERVE that or something..

Warriors take normal damage well...I think its totally fitting they be a bit worse vs the elements, as this is their counter damage, and Rangers are the ones that are soppsoed to take ele damage well, not warriors.

I play a warrior as my primary character, and i have to say i was a little worried about the update but after playing for a few hours last nite i have not noticed any difference in how "tough" I am, this update hasn't affected warriors as much as people are saying, the only problem i see is everyone now using elemental mods on swords, axes etc to combat the physical damage reduction but there are ways around that too

The whole idea for updates are as jimmy_logic said "what keeps GW interesting"

I know its a bit off topic. But i played 30+ hours a week(still play sum hours) BF2,before i played Guild wars. Look closely what happend there, they actually ruined the game, by listening to the wrong people(forums). They tryed to accomidate everybody, by gameplay change and nerves(not talking about the buggynes) dumbing the game down. What was a highspeed exciting game, is now...............

My point is its a fine line, to what player group are they(Anet) gonna listen?? or not listen?? There is always somebody or group thats not gonna be happy with things changed. I assume they make changes to balance the game and did there research. Hopefully for the best of the game.

To me, the Warrior "nerf" wasn't so much about balancing as to correcting errors.

The global absorption from Knights armor was never supposed to be like that - it doesn't make sense that one pair of shiny boots should lower the damage taken to your entire body.

The same applys to shields - how is a piece of metal held in your metal gauntlets going to protect you from lightning, for example?

Heh, how many of us Wammos have got seriously over-protected feet now?

How couldn't it stop a couple small rocks? How could it not stop some water? Or an arrow? Or a nerf-bat?

Has anyone actually tested their warrior now to see if there has been ANY ACTUAL proof that they die faster or get damaged faster? Instead of saying OMG I have been nerfed so bad just from reading the update notes?

Yeah, I did some farming runs today (don't do that much anymore, but this piqued my interest), and by golly that +10 per hit does hurt. 10 extra damage per hit, per monster, adds up quick if you're farming or tanking. And this was with a 15 strength (40 armor) Dolyak Signet, and Elemental Resistance up. I also observed some GVG matches since the ladder was open this weekend, and it was funny to see monks and eles actually attacking warriors with their wands and doing 9 or 10 damage instead of their usual 0's.

ya i did, the mobs in the area i farm now do 2s, instead of 0s, so now it takes me extra 3 minutes to complete the run, since I have to bring a healing spell.. I use to tank 10 of them at once, but now only tank 3 at a time.
