Default :/ Email change didn't work? Or am I impatient?

Before anyone tears my face off, I DID search and read some threads. Didn't answer the question I have.

I changed my email, as my old email is no longer active. I know I need to wait somewhere around 7 days for the name place to take change.

BUT.

I edited my account like, 7 hours ago, and I STILL haven't recieved that confirmation email in my inbox. I've tried resending it, but it said it was "in use", so I assume the system had understood it was to send a confirmation email to me..

..but it's not there.

Am I just impatient and this is normal? Or, did something screw up?

I have had same problem with the active one being inactive and it not working...

Are you talking about changing your email for logging into GW? It certainly shouldn't take 7 days... When I've changed my email how it works is they send your newly entered email, and your old email both a confirmation, and both emails have to click a link to confirm the change. It certainly shouldn't even take 7 hours for the confirmation email to come in. You said your old email is inactive? So then through the standard email change system it would be impossible to change your email. You've got to recieve emails to both emails. If you can no longer access your original email to change it, try contacting Support and telling them your situation.

...or are you talking about changing some other email?

Have you checked your spam filters? they could have knocked out the email. just a thought.

No, no. I read in a previous thread, that if you confirm the email in the NEW email, after 7 days the change will take place. Until then, you log in with the old email.

But I've not recieved a confirmation email at all..

I can't access the old email at all anymore. And it said on both one of these threads on this forum and at PlayNC, that so long as you confirm the new email, after 7 days you can use it to log in.

So.. yeah. I'm stumped on why this email hasn't come through.. I checked my filters as you suggested mega_jamie, and my junk mail, and still.. no email. D:

I was sure that you need to access the old email to confirm account name change, so as to stop people totally pilfing your account if they had managed to hack it.

Nope, you don't. I recently moved and my old ISP put a lock on the email account I used for my GW account, so I couldn't get in. I did the change address form, they sent an email to my new account (it took me over a day to get the email to confirm it). I confirmed it, seven days later I logged on with my new email (the old one will STILL work until you log in with the new one). Quite honestly, I'm not sure if I really like the system because it seems to me someone could easily obtain someone elses account. I know quite a few people use a spam email or infrequently used one, so in a 7 day time span they may not look at that particular email... but, alas, that's how it works.

To the OP, if you checked your spam filter then I'd probably just give it a day or so more. Sometimes it takes me many days to receive the emails from Anet for some reason.

have you sent in a support ticket to ask for help?

remember the first response is an auto respond and you have to reply to that with this did not solve my problem to get a person

Have you signed up for the GW store within GW. There is a bug that blocks changing your gw e-mail address once you sign up for the GW store.

I would submit a ticket to anet.
