Factions or Nightfall? - Guild Wars Forums

I only have prophecies so far, and again am just getting back into the game from a 6month - 1 year break from it. Now I'm just wondering which I should get. I like the character designs in factions more than in nightfall, but I've heard from many that factions is pretty bad, and nightfall is so much better.

I want something that will keep me entertained for awhile without too much grind, but also have some quality, like prophecies. What would you recommend? (Am about to go buy either one in about an hour. xD)

Nightfall, no question really.
I loved the Factions eastern setting but the areas in the game never really felt right and never clicked into place for me the way Prophecies did.

The only "grind" people will talk of in Nightfall atm is Sunspear rank (and Lightbringer) but I never found it to be an issue. Play through the story, clear areas as you are in them and it takes care of itself for the most part. I certainly felt the grind bringing my Proph/Factions characters to Elona as they are thrown into the story at a point where you need a certain rank to progress but even that grind isn't that harsh.

IMO Get Nightfall, play through on a new character and then if you want to, bring your proph chars over for a play. I'm really enjoying the setting more than I thought I would.

I would recommend nightfall. Factions is okay but nightfall seems alot more open than the run from mission 1 to mission 2 ect. The storyline + voice acting in cinematics are better.The two professions in nightfall are great (i enjoy playing my dervish) plus like mentioned above the only grind in nightfall is gaining the sunspear rank 7 which with a tyrian character would only take 2 hours max and less with an Elonian one.

Factions seems straightforward and the storyline seems to lack certain qualitys.

Thanks for the opinions. ^^ I also asked an old friend I saw online, and he too recommended nightfall. So I just got back from compusa and am installing it as I type. =p

You will enjoy fighting difficult monsters in open areas, rather than overpowered humans in cramped city space.
