answers:

- alot of people playing online? yes of course, particularly in the latest chapter which is nightfall.

- depends on how u define "fun". missions/quests/items/pve/pvp/items/armors/pets/farming are just some sources of fun u can enjoy in guildwars.

- u still can play with other players, or guildmates or just friends? of course u can choose to play by yourself. if u want the best team play, henchmen and heroes are the possible solution out because they dont speak or leave halfway during a quest/mission

- it doesnt get boring fast if u have more than 1 chapters, i see most players have been following all 3 chapters closely so im sure theres alot of things to do. i'd still say dont count too much on this because every game that has ever existed will become boring at one point of time.

- more player base, updates and heroes = get nightfall. while prophecies and factions are still viable, i'd suggest starting those campaigns with a group of mates..

Yes, it's a very successful game and many people play. Do yourself a favor and Google up some reviews, BTW.

It's addictive, fast paced, often challenging and the PvP is the best in the market in my opinion.

This will depend on you. If you are the type of person who generally makes friends easily and/or you find yourself a nice guild, you won't be alone. The game by design does encourage teamwork, but there are computer controlled henchman and heroes as well (and they require some special teamwork, too. lol). Guilds are very important in this game, even if you don't PvP.

It will get boring if you burn yourself out. Many people rush through the game and often skip a lot of content. This is not a good thing, IMO. The fun part of the game is the variety of Profession mixes, Mission challenges, maximizing gear, meeting new friends and participating in PvP Arenas, GvG, etc.

Each campaign stands on it's own. I have all of them and like the fact I started the story line where it begins. If you get Nightfall, you will be sure to have many other players leveling with you because it's the newest expansion. Having said that, there's no shortage of people playing the earlier campaigns.

Well, I played two years of WoW, I obviously liked that game, too.

But Guild Wars offers me a different experience with less time demands. Don't get me wrong, I spend 8-10 hours (or more) a day regularly playing the Guild Wars but I don't have to spend that much time, if you get my meaning. WoW had some high time investments for PvE endgame and it was a lot of work, IMO.

Also, no monthly subscription fees is kind of nice.

Just get a trial key from someone and download the game client and play it.

See for yourself.

Yes, there's tons of people playing GW around the world.

Yes, I've been playing since release (a bit over 1-1/2 years) and am still having a good time with it.

Yes, there's lots of opportunities to play with others, whether in PvP or in PvE (but not as much in Nightfall as with the other chapters)

For most people, no it doesn't get boring fast. There are so many different things to try out, especially on the PvP side, that you won't get bored easily. Yes, each campaign (Prophecies, factions, and Nightfall are beatable. Prophecies (the original GW) takes the longest to play through the story line, and factions is the shortest. As for FUN, They have special events such as Halloween & "Wintersday" festivals where they decorate certian towns and toss in different activities to celebrate the holidays. Last Wintersday, (Christmas - New Year's) they had a place where you could go and have Snowball fights with other players.

Prophecies is probably the best one to start out with. There's still plenty of people playing it and it gives you skills as quest rewards unlike the other two. Which means you won't have to purchase them with your hard earned gold. The learning curve is much easier than the other 2, as well - but leveling up is much slower. The average player can get a character through the story-line in about a month.

Nightfall has the best story line of the 3, and more people are playing it than the other 2. BUT, the majority of people playing in Nightfall are building their parties out of Hero and Henchmen AI's and going out questing and all that by themselves. It took me about 2 weeks to get through the storyline, but many people did it within a couple of days.

factions is the worst of the 3. The story-line and voice acting are just bad. It's not new player friendly as the learning curve is very steep. Alliance Battles (12 vs 12 PvP) are quite fun. It took me a while to get through the story-line, as I could only take factions in small doses.
