Default Rush through the missions? Or poke along?

I'm a newbie here, just started playing prophecies a few weeks ago.
4 of us are playing along together, sort of.

We were planning/trying to wander around and do the non mission stuff on our own, then do the missions together.
BUT since winterfest is here, and the "main" stuff seems to be a bit further down the mission list than where we are. (We all seem to have different free time)

If I burn through the missions to get to to Lion's Arch at least, will I miss a bunch of the side quests?
Or can I come back and do those side quests later?

I just don't want to miss out on a once a year event, because I get to Lion's Arch on 1-3 or something

Anywho,
cheers, and any responses would be appreciated.

you can come back at any time for the missions/quests you skipped.

dont miss the lions arch special events quests or the fun.

what you skip will still be there

cheers

Yes. Unless you hit an unlucky bug somehow.

I would definetly suggest that you get a run to Lions Arch or run/fight there yourself..for the festivities...but I am pretty sure that you can also enjoy the same things "event" wise in Old Ascalon!

Cheers...and Merry Christmas

Yes, you can just follow the primary quests and do the missions they lead to. People very familiar with the game can do most of these in their sleep, but I'm not sure how much longer it will take you and your friends to get through the first time. (I remember it taking me months to go around the game the first time.)

Any uncompleted side quests you have right now, you can abandon (in a town.) Then you can return to the original quest-giver NPC to retake them later.

I'm a big fan of PvE and seeing everything the first time through, so I don't normally condone rushing/running services. But I agree it would be a shame to miss Wintersday. I got to do all the Wintersday stuff last year because someone was kind enough to run me someplace later in the game. Getting rushes and runs will only ruin the story for you if you let it.

Cheers,
Luny

Cool.
So it sounds like a run for the 3 of us to Lion's Arch

Now to find some better kit, and be ready to go.
(Either that or convince the wife, I should play more. hehe.)
Or just convince the charr to drop nothing but black dye
