Question Ranger or warrior?

So i am playing Gw for about 7 months and i have Monk,Ritualist and Paragon. Now i will make new proffesion from propechies and took it trought Factions and NF.
So i am asking which profesion is better to make:Ranger or Warrior?
I will do missions, quests(like my other chars) and sometimes farm.
Both profesions are good i know that but i want to see what you think about this profesions and what you say that i make.

Neither one is better than the other, but they do offer different fighting styles. You seem to go more with support and ranged with your other characters, so you can choose ranger and have the same type of gameplay, or warrior and play a front-line style.

If you make a warrior and choose ranger as your secondary, you can get a taste of both.

Other than using a pet I can't see how warrior and ranger play anything alike, unless you're a ra/wa melee fighter. A warrior will never be able to use a bow to any good effect they lack Expertise and energy to do so. Likewise trapping would be hopeless.

Between those 2 professions I would choose ranger but I enjoy both. Ranger gets you into end-game trapping or BP teams which is always nice. Often in high-end areas 1 warrior is all that is needed while there may be multiple rangers or other professions on the team.

I as well. A tank that can poison can be a deadly combo in a lot of cases.

Warrioring is dull in pve

While i love my warrior to death i'd have to say ranger also because its much better for Farming in end game.

i have both a ranger and a warrior (and 5 other characters) and my favorite is the ranger. I've found they are much more versatile and therefore provide more enjoyment.

I just had to edit the first post.. It nearly made my eyes bleed.

I'd go with the Warrior.

W/R ftw, but if not - ranger. Rangers are more fun in PvE in the long run

I'm a huge fan of both classes, but Warrior makes more sence for a few reasons.

A war leads the party, so if your using hench/hero you have a much easier time with a war in front of them than a ranger at the back.

A war can addapt to every map through build changes. Most rangers will run the same build on every map, this gets boring sometimes

Since all of the op previous chars are ranged caster/attackers a melee would give you a very different perspective on the game.

While you can use War/ranger a war is much more likely to experiment with every secondary as each bring something that he can use in the battlefield. A ranger can use anysecondary but rarely needs to and doesnt seam to gain as much benifit from doing so...for the most part.

In the end you'll likely want both, time to buy another char slot !!

Mesmer.... by far the least played and most valuable class in both pve and pvp. especially if youre a good one

anyway... I have both and will tell you i have way way way more fun on my ranger than my warrior, just some spots are easier to run through or occasionally i just feel like being up close to beat the shit out of things with a warrior.

How is playing a warrior different than playing a ranger in this regard? You assess the enemy, you pick a target, you attack/call and the henchies follow. Its not like they "see" the warrior up front with their little AI eyes and are duly impressed and thus perform better.

If anything a ranger would be superior as they in theory have a better view of the battle and can retreat, change targets quicker (don't have to run to them), spread around attacks easier due to ranged vs melee (interrupts, conditions), etc.

That's just the choice of the player and can apply to playing any profession.

The problem with a Ranger leading the party is often agro, which leads to a spike. Yes you can call a target or flag your hench to charge in ahead of you but a War and set up proper deffences and take the dmg while guiding the course of the battle.

I am not saying that Rangers are incapable of doing this, as ive stated I play a ranger and love it. But for somebody that has already played ranged chars and never a melee this is a better opportunity to see things from a different perspective.

I'd take Ranger as it's much more versatile in the different types of builds and the teams you'll be able to get in on. Especially if you unlock as many of the skills as you can. I also use my Ranger for running Guildies around. I use my warrior in one or 2 spots that need a little more armor and/or stances, but Rangers are much better at it.

I said the w/r would give him a taste of ranger, not the full experience. While my warrior is my eldest character and goes everywhere first, I do have to admit that my ranger dies less often [DON'T FORGET THE REZ SIG AGAIN].

Of course that could also be happening because the warrior has already been through that area and told the ranger what to do.

--The rez sig comment is my self-inflicted punishment for forgetting it in Nahpui Quarter and having to do the mission again. I now type that everytime I mention my ranger.
