/sigh

The rumors are just that: RUMOR.

Nothing has been confirmed. The site that "released" this is questionable at best. Relax, kick back, be patient and wait untill Anet/Gaile/Alex releases REAL info. As of now all this gw2/ch 4 stuff is just gossip.

We have enough threads on this don't we?

What makes the Inquirer questionable? Maybe you should read the second admin edit on the first post here.

I can tell you that some of what you've read is right, some of it is wrong, and quite a bit of it is misleading.
when you add up *some is wrong* plus the *quite a bit of it is misleading.* that doesnt leave much left as *right*

note also since they used the scattergun approach it would have been hard NOT to have been right on some just by chance.

they got an exclusive and not a word to anybody else?

IF THEY GOT THAT EXCLUSIVE THE INFORMATION WOULD HAVE BEEN RIGHT NOT WHAT GAILE SAID ABOUT IT.

If you read the whole thread you linked, you will find info on the Inquirer website. People familiar with it state that the majority of their breaking news turns out to be incorrect.

Also, Inde, guru admin, posted later that she had contacted the reporter and inquired how he obtained the info. He told her that he received an email from NCSoft containing the information. He seems to be the only person in the world who received this communication.

Wow, calm down. I did read what Gaile said and obviously the article is mostly rumors, but I think people have a misconception about the Inquirer and it is unfair to call the entire site "questionable at best". As mentioned in that other post, their "exclusive" could have been nothing more than someone chatting up a drunk employee, or a spoof.

The odds of getting something as obscure as the Asura as relevant to Guild Wars (note, I'm not saying that because an Asuran mini-pet came out, you'll be able to play as an individual of the Asuran race) is pretty slim, you must admit. That's what drove home, for me, that the entire article isn't complete bunk. However, I still take the entire thing with a heapful of salt.

Wasn't one of the exclusives for Factions in a some obscure magazine (Play? Something like that. I don't even remember anymore.), like the Assassin profession preview, that most people hadn't heard of, and was considered 'small-fry', followed by responses saying that such an unknown magazine would never get an exclusive feature article without some kind of prior notice from Anet, and that people should take it with a grain of salt. Sounds oddly familiar, doesn't it? (though yes, afterwards, it was made official, but during the time, it was quite a surprise)
And when haven't articles come with a subsequent "some of what they said is not quite right/subject to change/misleading" post by Gaile? As recently as one of the Nightfall Domain of Anguish previews had one of those disclaimers, if I recall correctly.

While, once again, none of this means much, if any, of the information is accurate about the future of Guild Wars, to act like it's so clear-cut would require going off of some kind of additional information, outside of what has been said, and in the same quoted words, unless that information has come directly from Arena Net...

---
Edit: Just as a note, I'm fairly sure it's Play at this point, and I'm aware that Anet had a number of exclusive features with Play during 2003 (?), prior to the release of Guild Wars. Also, it's not that Play necessarily has a small userbase or is un-noteworthy, obscure simply is meant to imply 'unknown'. At the time the magazine had come out, though, I, among many, were unaware of that, and I don't believe Anet had the press-release record on their site they do at this point available to establish the magazine as a reliable feature source.

I don't blame you for wanting to be informed, but I do blame you for not using search or your common sense to read the dozens of other threads that discuss this topic.

I'm just gonna give my answers to these questions(i.e. what I would like the case to be)

1. Make a Chapter 4 and a GW2.

2. No Mounts or Race ideas implemented in Chapter 4, save those for GW2. Too late to add something on that scale into the game at this point.

3. I hope not, just allow you to start any character class as long as you have the corresponding campaigns. Add about 25 new skills for each profession along with the core skills.

4. Damn well better not be! lol
