Default Expert Salvage in Pre-Searing

After clicking on the normal salvage kit in Pre. Why does the cursor change to a hammer icon when you go over an item that has a rune or mods (health, fire dmg, etc) attached to it? This is confusing because for those who know about expert salvages because this is a symbol of a rare item (rune, fortitude, etc). I feel that Pre-searing should have this change so it does not confuse no one else. Or include expert salvage to Pre so people could get to know about magic items and runes earlier before go into Post.

There are two kits in Post so why not put expert salvage in Pre and the other in Post.

I am a player whom is trying for the Legendary Defender of Ascalon title. I have came across many runes in my journey to lvl 20 in Pre-searing but have no way of salvaging them.
Let NCsoft know that more players would like to see this change. Thank you for your time.

Part of what makes Pre more difficult to reach 20 in is that you can not salvage runes/mods etc (with the exception of those kits that were brought in during the brief guilld hall glitch, and those are enormously expensive per use)

Pre is meant to be without expert salvage. After 2 years I doubt Anet will change that, sorry

Prophecies is a much more staggered game than its sequels. You don't see elite skills until the desert; you don't get max armor until Droknar's Forge; you had to make detours to all those South Shiverpeaks outposts if you wanted to buy all skills until a skill trainer was put into Ember Light Camp. Pre-Searing Ascalon wasn't meant to be the permanent stop it has now become for some characters, and as such, certain features are unavailable there: dye and materials traders, guild hall merchants, guild hall access (patched after abuse), and - here's your item of interest - Expert Salvage kits. The fact that you can't extract runes from armor until after the Searing is an intentional element of design.

There are some expert salvage kits on some players in pre-searing. The going rate is about 70K in pre-searing gold, or 350K in post-searing gold for a expert salvage.

The only thing you need the runes for is when you go after the Charr in the Northlands by yourself, and after you get up to lvl 13-14 or so, you really don't need runes as you can solo them with the equipment at hand.

So save the ones you want to take with you to post-searing and and salvage them there, or be prepared to pay.
