Default Stupid Question

Ok, so I play GW regularly and am in a small guild with some real life buddies who live near me. Unfortunately, we don't seem to be online at the same time very often and I'm getting very bored of chatting with the heroes and henchmen as I find the conversation a little bit one sided.

So, my stupid question is where could I post looking for people to meet up with and do quests, mission or whatever? Also, I know I could look for people in game, but I would rather play with older people (read 20+) and don't want to put up with having to weed out the tards in the game. I figure people who post here aren't as likely to be as annoying as people i'm going to pick up PUGin....

Thanks,
BeefEater

Edit: fixed grammar

If you are having trouble with a mission, you could post in the appropriate areas (eg, Tyrian, Canthan, Elonian Explorers' League) to meet up. Lots of people step up and offer to help. If it's just casual adventuring, you may be able to organize there also.

Are you an officer in your guild? If so, you could recruit more to be in your guild.

If you are the leader, you can post here in the Guild Auditorium on guru, in the thread "introducing your guild" and you can write what you're looking for in a member. We've gotten a very diverse and interesting group of folks just from guru alone. And then one by one they ask to invite their friends and family, etc, and pretty soon you're a growing guild with lots of peeps to play with.

Ah poor guy, here's the link:

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=9

read the sticky first, then post away. You only got one post so make it count.

ya.. i'm not an officer or leader in my guild of 5 which includes me and my fiance who never plays . I'm not looking to join a guild or recruit people into mine, I just want to find some people who are on at the same times as i am to adventure with. I have all three chapters and can adventure in most areas of all of them with one character or another. I am really lacking in my progress through cantha though...so Tyria or Elona are better places for me.

The explorers league threads are a good suggestion and i may try there. Was just wondering if there was a specific place for it or not.

Thanks for the replies.

I wish you great good luck in finding people to play with.

I guess the other suggestion I'd have is, sit in a big town somewhere and watch public chat and take your cues from it. (I know, I know, but sometimes it's ok!!)

For example, Sunspear Sanctuary, thousands of people seem to be looking for help to cap Avatar of Balthazar. It doesn't take long to do, but the only way to meet people in-game is PUGing ... or PvP. Offer to help some folks with that task. Maybe you'll meet someone you want to put on friends' list.

I know you don't want to recruit, and you don't want to be in the position to recruit, but in reality, a guild roster is the easiest friends' list you'll ever have. You can talk to them all at once, see when they last logged on, etc. IMHO to me it's what a guild is about. Having people you like, easy to communicate with and organize parties with.
