Default Question about The Hall of Monuments.

Ok, so i know that you can put items in there to bring over to your character that is going to be in GW2. I got a pair of daggers i REALLY like. Its just that i need to customize them for GvG. I want to take them over to GW2 for my next character;which will be an assassin.

My question is; What about customized items? Will they be able to be transfered to my GW2 character? If so will he be able to use it?

Yeah that's what I was wondering. It'd be funny if your children (GW2 chars) could'nt use the equipment you had 100 years later if you customized it. It won't conform to my hands!!! I don't know if they were specific, but what kind of items can be transfered? Only greens or what? I've got that earth staff that "looks" like the scepter of orr and I really like it, but it's purple though.

We have no idea how the Hall of Monuments will work; there has been very little information on it so far. We don't even know if weapons will be directly transferable, or if obtaining certain GW1 accomplishments will unlock a special weapon in GW2 not tied to any of your GW1 weapons.

I'd be surprised if even ANet knew at this point, considering how early on in development GW2 is. I wouldn't expect to know with any certainty the answers to any of those questions until at least a few months after GWEN comes out. Heck, we don't even know if assassins will EXIST in Guild Wars 2 yet

My advice: customize them for GvG now, and worry about GW2 when it comes out in 2-3 years.

Gaile mentioned something a while back regarding putting weapons in the Monuments... it was along the lines of still being able to use them in GW1 after you've put it in the monument for GW2.

It seemed to imply the weapon itself being transferrable... but begs the question regarding what happens if you get rid of the weapon in GW1 (thus not having it available for your decendants)...

I suspect (based on no evidence or knowledge whatsoever) that you are likely unlocking a skin in GW2, or possibly even an identical weapon with identical stats (provided the stats system is the same) and not actually transferring the exact item itself. Well, of course it's not the item itself... you can still use it in GW1...

I need a drink.

No Item Transfers

It's probably do a quest, unlock a "bonus"-style item in GW2.

Where exactly do you see "No Item Transfers" anywhere on that site?

giving you access to exclusive titles, companions , weapons, attire, and miniatures. These inherited items are unique: there is no other way within Guild Wars 2 to acquire them.
Excluse for a start, and the fact there will be no other way in GW2 to get them implies they will be special bonus's not the same item

I for one am fed up of these topics

So your telling me the item wont be transfered, but a character in GW2 will be able to get the same item that was put into the hall of monuments?

Seems to me that the HoM will be title driven (accomplishments) to receive the benefits mentioned in the article. I doubt Anet would let a player choose a weapon to transfer over since that would mean potentially every sword, staff, offhand, etc. in the game had to be coded into GW2.

So, for the next 2 years people... GRIND, GRIND, GRIND for those titles!
