Default Treating alliances as one big guild

I heard an idea the other day about using the alliance to expand the number of members in a guild, so you can get more than 100. So these two or more guilds work as though they are one and the names are often similar.

What I would like to know is......
-Does anyone belong to alliances like this?
-Do they actually work?

Thanks,
Oscar (Xmark Zdrec)

well, I'm in 1 at the moment, and they work quite well, but it can be hard to keep track of all the different names.. thats about the only problem I can think of.

I'm in an alliance/guild like this right now. It's awesome. We all have the same guild tag and cape. We only use Alliance chat, and it works extremely well.
<3 my guild

Go Amazon Basin! Whoo!

Alliance Leader = leader
Guild Leaders = Officers
Guild Officers = new rank under officers.. neat

The Alliance I'm in isn't working very well, but, one thing that I could see to improve this is the addition of a guild roster which you could see for every guild in the alliance. You could make it a drop down box below the Guild names and Faction in the Alliance tab. That is one very simple way (i imagine) of helping alliances get along better.

XoO uses an alliance system like this. It seems to work pretty well...

my alliance, [tom],is set up like this, and it seems to work well. cuts down on childish behavior, more cohesive vision for each guild and the alliance as a whole, no problems as of yet.

These guilds work realy well as it increases the amount of members you can have. As Nikki siad the only actual disadvantage is keeping track of names.
