Default Skip Factions and Nightfall

Hey everyone,

I played the original Prophecies campaign back when it first came out and loved it. The only reason I eventually stopped playing the game was because I was beginning college at the end of that summer and I didnt want it to affect my schoolwork. With all of the recent Eye of the North stuff I have been hearing about though, I was motivated to play Prophecies again. I'm loving it so far, but I cant help but feel like im missing out by not having played Factions and Nightfall, and now that Eye of the North is coming out, it seems like it would be impossible to ever catch up before GW2 comes out. Do you guys think I should just cut my losses and play Eye of the North and skip Factions and Nightfall, or should I grind it out and try to play as much as I can until GW2 gets released?

If it makes that much of a difference, I do enjoy PvP, but im not nearly competitive enough for that to be the deciding factor in whether or not I buy the game, I'm much more interested in the PvE aspect of the game.

I know there is a sticky addressing which game to buy, but I read that and I still dont know what to do. Just wanna hear everyones thoughts about the situation.

Thanks.

Well, GW2 is 2 or more years away, so you should have plenty of time to pick up the other two and get through them.

You are missing out on a few things by not playing Factions and Nightfall.

Factions is something of a side-thought in the grand scheme of things, so you could probably skip it unless you really want it. However, it's the home of the Assassin and Ritualist professions, so if there are any EN heroes of these professions you're going to need Factions if you want to make any real use of them. The same goes for Nightfall if EN features any Dervish or Paragon heroes.

Also, if it's PvE that you're interested in, you should definitely consider getting Nightfall. Nightfall is very heavy on PvE and has an astoundingly good storyline that ties up a lot of loose ends from Prophecies and Factions. Not to mention the heroes that you get along the way that considerably diversify your options in PvE.

And, as Kook pointed out, GW2 is still a coupla years away. More than enough time to get through everything.

Thanks guys, I dont really know why I thought GW2 was coming out so soon, but if I have ample time to make it through all of them, I definitely am going to play all of them. (Although not as much during the school year, gotta keep my grades up)
