Default Guild Wars Community

It is obvious to me that a guild wars community exists, this site is proof enough for that. However, I have a question that may seem somewhat silly. How does one get fully emersed into the community of guild wars? I have played several classes, and found one that I like, but have had trouble finding a guild and have had trouble with the amount of slang and plain information that I don't understand yet. It seems as though the learning curve is very steep (granted my only other experience with MMO's is WoW, which is very easy to learn).

I also have not been able to find any RP guilds or even just PVE guilds, though I imagine thats because I have not made it to 20 yet.

I guess what I am asking is how can I ease the learning curve, or where can I find resources to help me learn more and get involved more in the game?

Thank You

Well first of all, don't be afraid to ask, how are you gonna learn if you don't know the answer, right? If you're looking for guild to join, go a bit lower from Q&A and you'll see "Guild Connections". It's a recruitment forum, there you'll can have a look at what you fancy, be it RP or PVE. Then you can get in touch with them and stuff.

Most big pve or rp guilds will have their own websites as well, so if they tell you to check it out, do so. When you do get in a guild, just have a talk with them, ask questions if they're good player they'll take time to help you out etc. These things do take time. If you don't like the guild you can leave anytime you wish. So don't feel bad.

Well good luck.

I'm sure there are many guilds like mine. We welcome new players, answer questions, and help you through difficult missions. Look around, do a google search, check out the guild's website. You should be able to find a guild that will help you.

If you're having trouble, you can usually just try asking in a more crowded district in the game. Granted, you'll get some "brilliant" people who'll flame you, but I've seen a few people answering other people's questions, and I'd join in as well :P. Otherwise, the wikis (GuildWiki and GuildWars' Official Wiki have a huge wealth of information. The Gaming and Gameplay section of Guru are also pretty good areas to start, since quite a bit of that information is still relevant. A lot of the articles on GW's site can also give you tidbits of info.
