Basic Armor Question for Nightfall - Guild Wars Forums

Hey everyone, sorry for this, it's undoubtedly somewhere on the boards I have just failed to find it.

I have recently picked up Nightfall and want to locate the towns that have armor. I just arrived at a city that has slightly upgraded armor (the 75G set) but I used to play a whole bunch when the Cantha setting first launched and I'm sitting on loads of mats and money and would prefer jumping straight to a better set of armor, preferably something that requires rare mats to make. What cities have this in Nightfall and where are they located?

Also, is it possible to upgrade armor on your hirelings? The heroes not the random shlubs in town.

yeah. from kamadan look for some one "ferrying to docks" its usually about 500g. go with them to the docks. there you can buy max armor.

and as for hero's armor, it upgrades as they level up. they have max armor when they hit lvl 20.

The places you can get better armor in Nightfall are (in order of armor strength):

Kamadan
Jokanur Diggings (location of mission 2)
Blacktide Den (location of mission 3, south of Jokanur Diggings; requires completion of mission 2)
Consulate Docks (location of mission 4, west of Kamadan)
Command Post (behind the Sunspear Sacntuary on the mainland)

Max armor is available from the Consulate Docks onwards, and will require rare materials in addition to common materials. The Command Post also has a prestige armor crafter once you've done the "Building the Base" quests, and other prestige armor crafters can be found at the Kodash Bazaar and the Bone Palace (as well as the end-game area after beating the final boss).

As far as hero armor goes, their armor level will increase as they level up; eventually having max armor when they reach level 20. You can "upgrade" their armor by using armor remnants found in certain challenge missions, although this only changes their armor appearance and not their armor level.
