Default Quickest route to taming a hyena?

As my Rangers pet tiger Tony reached level 20, I realised that I would no longer be watching enemies in AB get mauled to death by an animal lower level than them. So I decided to get a new pet, the thing is, I want a hyena, and my Ranger hasn't even completed the factions campaign he started, and it seems hyenas can only be obtained by riding a desert wurm. Any solutions?

I would probably try crystal overlook, since it says its near the south east entrance.

I suggest the lair of the forgotten. Get out, kill the mobs there if you want to death level.

And you are right, they are fairly late in the nightfall campaign, no easier way to get one.

You might try to get the elder Hyena of this Ranger Boss in Turai's Procession, but I think it cannot be tamed!

If your problem is getting to the areas where you can cap a Hyena I think if you have a friend / guildie load up with heroes and hench you can go die on the Sulphur Flats, and when you're dead, your partner should be able to access a wurm...downside is they have to do all the fighting / running across the sands

I got my brother to Lair of the Forgotten from Gate of Desolation a while back, even though he hadn't gone through Vabbi, using this method. There are usually a few Hyenas lurking around the Poisoned Outcrops just outside Lair of the Forgotten.

As far as I know that method of getting there still works?

I have charmed two of them in the Poisoned Outcrops (Lair of the Forgotten).
You can easily avoid the mobs too.

you can even get it to dire, by just going out and taking the left path, try to charm it then break casting, put off your armor, put on a vampiric weapon and go watch a movie or something, you can speed the level up by trying to charm 2 hyenas (you just need to be lucky with the spawn) and eventually just the first you tried to charm will level up

No I want it low level, I want to use a beastmaster build in PvP with a low level pet. Anyway I guess I will have to get cracking on nightfall with my ranger.
