Default Making Heroes Use Blood Of the master

I find that my hero MM doesnt uses blood of the master. Instead he chooses to create more minions even if he already has 10 minions. So it doesnt makes any difference. Instead if my hero would use heal it would be much awesome. Is there any way to make olias use heal minions?

Well, on the Hero control panel, if you click (or ctrl+click, I can't remember which now) on the skill you want them to use, they'll use it immediatly, or when they have the energy (or what-have-you). It's micro-managing yes, but it's the only way (I think) that's garunteed.

Sometimes a bit of micro-management is necessary with Olias. I'm not sure how the heroes prioritize the skills on their bar and find that I have to kick Olias in the head occasionally to get him back on track. I have found that the MM in Sab's build works well, as the hero manages Death Nova and Jagged Bones better than I could ever imagine trying on my own and doesn't spam himself to death with Blood of the Master.

Heroes gotta be little more effective on using skills. I dont say they should learn how to use a cookie cutter build but they atlest know what are skills for. For example they should understand that blood of master is a skill that shoudl be spammed...

Olias used to be a much better MM though. I don't know if anyone has noticed. He and his minions won't engage in battle when everyone else is unless you're in melee range of a foe, and he takes ages to raise minions and catch up.

MM heroes need a bit of micro-management. That is something they disappoint me in. But if you are in an area with lots of low lvl mobs (arachni's haunt nm) you don't need to because they make minions so fast they don't need to heal them.

When it comes to the choice of making new minions or healing the older ones they'll keep right on raising until there aren't any corpses left, you move or intervene.

Don't forget that rather than spamming BotM to counter minion health degeneration, sometimes it's better to have fresh minions that will be up for a minute before the degen starts.

The energy you think might be saved by using BotM (5e) versus raising a new minion (25e) is also offset by the energy needed to heal the amount sacrificed by constantly spamming BotM.

When a new minion is created, the oldest or nearest to dead minion will be replaced. Keep that in mind.

I have always used Olias as the MM and I don't see any problems with him. He is usually at 10 minions. I dont really pay attention to what skills he is using to do that though. I know in areas with less corpses he does use botm to keep his minions alive. My problem is getting him to actually use blood ritual without me going on my high nrg set and being completely out of nrg.

only problem i have had with Olias is that he sometimes spams Death Nova when there is no need..and often makes him lag behind the party ...and late for a fight

Only sometimes ?

I find that he does this every time I put Death Nova on his bar. So I don't put it on his bar any more. Jagged Bones doesn't cause this problem because it has a higher cooldown.

And as far as spamming BOTM is concerned, as long as he can keep 10 minions up, I don't really care. So far it seems that he only starts spamming it when its needed because unlike most MM players, he is actually watching the minions health bars.

My Oliases don't seem to have any prob using BotM, at least judging by the drops in the health bar indicating its usage. He does favor raising new ones over healing them but if there's no bodies to exploit, he heals them.

If you have healer hench/heroes with you, they'll heal the minions, too, so that may be why you don't see Olias healing them as often.

I have BotM in the 7th slot, next to res, fwiw.

Put BotM in the first slot in his bar.

I watch what Olias uses and when. He tends to use BotM while we are moving, Heal Area while standing still.

I put heal area in as well and then it generally doesn't matter. The minions get healed either way, and he seems to have no problem using that instead of raising more minions.

Good grief Charlie Brown - you shouldn't be using Bone Fiends anyway. The minions are mostly good as a meat shield, and the others cost way less.
You should be using Bone Horrors, Vampiric Horrors, and Shambling Horrors (and Flesh Golem or Jagged Bones). In which case it's 5e (plus health loss, + energy for healing) versus 10 or 15 energy to make a new minion.

My Livia is quite effective at using BotM (and Heal Area) when appropriate, but she does tend to make new minions when she can (which I prefer). That not only ensures a fresher set of minions, but keeps the monsters from using the bodies for something else.

hah i found this post interesting. Heroes are much better players than we ourselves could be in a sense they know what to do and how to do it. The fact is raising for minions is more effective because healing them doesnt matter they will still degen health faster the longer they have been out so why not? res the bitches haha. But my personal build that works best is flesh for first shambling for second vamp for third and the rest kareis healing circle heal other etc all the rest are healing other skills u should put and if u want a res skill cause while his minions tank he can res u. Olias and MoW are best mms livia isnt a good skill chainer on mm... livia is much better at blood magic as ive found. But yes olias will do what he thinks is best. The End.
