Default Few questions please..

Hi, ive recently just swapped from playing WoW to GW as wow is too repetivite and too much grinding, which i here GW isnt

Just wanted to ask a few questions...

Ive got Prophecies and the addon pack eye of the North.

Can you only make a PvP character once you hit 20, but you can make/delete pvp characters as you want ?

Which is the most needed class in pvp ?

Also can you play your pve character on pvp ? or are they two seperate things.

And is it better to have a damage dealer for PVE, or are healers needed for instances.

Sorry for noobish questions, but answers much appreciated!!

Can make a PvP character right away, they are always level 20.
Most needed depends on what form you are playing. There are several arena types, Guild-v-Guild, Alliance Battles, etc. Monks are almost always wanted, but being a good PvP Monk takes time and experience. PvE characters can play PvP, but not the other way around. There are low level arenas for PvE characters, and they can hit all other arenas once they reach a certain point in the game. For someone new, a damage dealer is a better option until you learn more about how PvP works.

So for now i will probably take a damage dealer for PVE and play about with Monks pvp.

Is there like a practice pvp were u can play to learn the ins and outs b4 you take it serious, or a battleground type pvp with alot of players ?

hmz practice pvp, zaishen challenge/elite, it are some sort of pvp simulations

random arena's might be a nice place to start it as well, that place is flooded with new players

you need a lvl 20 OR a pvp character to enter it

Well, AB is a good way to test your build but you don't have Factions to do it. You can test dmg output on the isle of nameless to see whether you're effective enough or not. Maybe try some Zaishen challenge. The only problem with GW that you must have all the campaign to have an effective build.

Guildwars consists of three campaigns: Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall, and one add-on: Eye of the North.. It's not really nescesairy to have all of them, but it's highly advisable to get them all at some point. As a new player you'll be fine with just prophecies i guess, as it has more then enough skills for a beginning player to enjoy the game

Welcome to the game, and if you have any questions feel free to whisper me ingame: Zazazel Samara

For explinations on some of the terms:
Zasihen challenge and elite missions are were you party with real players to fight against computer controlled players who behave like people. It can give you a basic idea of how PvP works.

Random arenas (RA) and Alliance Battles (AB, exclusive to Factions) are both forms of PvP where you are teamed up with a group of random people (RA has you team up with 3 other people against 4 opponents, AB has your team of 4 team up with 2 other teams of 4 against 12 opponents).
Due to the random nature of the team composition, these forms of PvP are less organized and therefore easier to learn the ropes on, as well as more forgiving of newbie mistakes.

I'd say if you are a monk, the random arena's are a great place to learn some of the basics, since it really isn't that serious, and you get used to playing with and against a variety of builds.
