Default Where to ask..?

Alright, I am seriously not sure where to ask this question...there are so many places and each one says something that makes me think "AHHHH!! If I post it THERE, I'll get BANNED and my question will NEVER get answered!!!!!"

So, what better place than the Questions part of the forum. If this is in the wrong place, please, kindly tell me WHERE to post it, so I can do so.

The question/problem:

I can not, for the life of me take screenshots.
I am running Vista, I have a laptop (toshiba pos if you MUST know. Very new, not even a year, and still...P.o.S.)

I hit, Print Screen.
I hit, Crtl+Print Screen.
I hit, Fn+Print Screen.
I hit, Shift+Print Screen.
I hit, Crtl+Shift+Print Screen.

I do NOT have a screens folder in my GW directory...
and apparently when you take a screen shot (from what I've read of other people...) you get a message saying that it has been saved, where it has been saved, what it was saved AS, and I don't get any of those messages.

When I hit any of the buttons mentioned above, the only thing that happens is that my cursor flashes....o.0

Can someone please tell me if I'm doomed to never have a screen shot in my life??

((If this is the wrong place, I'm sorry.))

Will I get in trouble for posting the same thing twice??

Of course, I don't think that my computer itself is the problem...though I have my doubts. I really am not for sure how to remedy this problem...but I will try the Tech Corner if I am not going to be kicked out for posting the same thing twice....

I'm not sure on the rules. You wont get banned for having the thread in the wrong spot, mods will move it if they fell its needed. I'm not very computer savvy but im sure some kids on here are.

Thank you for your assistance. I went ahead and posted it on the Tech Forum. The only reason I'm scared is because some forums won't hesitate to slap that ban on just about any person with a noob-ish question.

Vista puts things like screenshots into a different location than XP (I think it's in My Documents) or something like that. Just tell vista to search for gw00*.jpg and you should find them.

the screenshots should be in C:\Users\(current profile name)\Documents\Guild Wars\Screens (current profile name) is whatever the name of the profile you use in Vista for running GW. If you notice your mouse cursor dissappear for a second most likely the screenshot was saved. The only message you will see is in the chat log, so you might miss it (no popup window saying it was saved). And you just need to hit prt sc. Shift, crtl, fn aren't needed.

A few points:

#1. Technical issue's, such as this, do belong in the Technicians Corner forum - it's there for technical issue's with the game, your computer, etc.

#2. You won't be banned for asking what some might consider a stupid or noobish question. We only ask a few things of posters:

- use the Search Feature to find if your question has already been asked
-- Search: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/search.php

- in Q&A, check out the "Frequently Asked Questions" thread if search doesn't help you. This thread does have the answer's to a lot of commonly asked questions
-- FAQ thread: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...d.php?t=107306

- Generally a good idea to read the stickies in a forum before posting, they usually have important information relating to that forum, or specific reminders of rules or such that you should pay attention to.

- Finally, ensure that you stick to the Forum rules.
-- Forum Rules: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/content...nes-id2030.php

Keep these things in mind and you should have no problems here. Welcome to Guild Wars Guru

And since this thread isn't needed, as your problem has been resolved in the Tech forum thread, I'm going to close this thread.
