Default Making gold at low level

As the topic says I'm wondering how to get a decent gold income at low level? I'm level 10 right now and my weapon sucks, I wanna buy a new one, but I need like 2k gold for that! I only got like 500! So anyone know a good place to farm some easy gold? I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section or a re-post, but I'm in a hurry right now.

Pick up everything, is my hint to you (There are no real low level farm places :P)
Pick up everything, and identify it (even whites) They can double in value if you do.
After a few missions/quests/random things you should have 2k.

Goodluck.

doing some local quests and continueing the storyline will give you some money too... what weapon are you using/do you want to use?

Get in a big Alliance and ask someone for a green weapon. Most guilds or alliance members have a lot of items, most of which are just taking up space in their inventory that they would love to give you.

*shudders* Dont overdo this. I hate it when new guildies start begging for items from the first minute, and are offended when you refuse. Dont ask for anything until you are in the guild for some time
Use Miskavs suggestion

This might be Off topic.... but at a low level you shouldnt be thinking about farming, getting lots of money and expensive items.
Play the game, follow the story, explore new areas, do quests, missions, join a guild with nice people....

- Do as some already suggested. Pick up everything and sell it to the merchant.
- Don't merchant Dyes. Black and White Dyes are worth a lot. Check the Dye traders if you are unsure about the price for the other colors.
- Salvage Runes and sell them either to the rune trader or players
- Don't buy keys in the low lvl areas.

Just follow the story line and you will automatically get better drops, that are worth more.

The quickest way I made money at a low level if in Prophecies is to farm Char Carvings. There is always someone in Piken looking to buy them at 4 to 6 times face value to trade in later for holiday items. I made a lot of gold this way when i started out and it wasn't that hard.

If you are in Proph and are fairly far in the campaign ie LA, you can farm GoK with every single class with the help of oink(pig that is invincible and will tank anything you attack). Search around for a better thread on this, but its what i did back when proph was new and everyone didnt have 8 levels 20 characters.

Woah, wait, you mean I've been playing for over 2 years and I didn't know identifying -whites- ups their price?

As others have suggested:
- pick up everything and identify

Mostly just follow the storyline and do quests though if you're still a beginner. Depending on your location, the quest rewards will either be experience/skills/gold. Skills will save you gold since you won't have to purchase skills later. Also save things like battle commendations/kournan coins/imperial commendations and that sort of thing because you can end up making a profit by selling them or trading them in for things that have decent value. There are also some monster drops ('trophies') that can be profitable as well.

Guildwiki link to 'Profitable Trophies':http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Categ...table_trophies
Guildwiki link to 'Festival Trophies': http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Categ...tival_trophies

Maybe list what campaigns you have so that others can be more specific in leaving advice for you.

Don't worry about buying weapons and items from other players. The stuff people try to sell in towns are often overpriced. You can get by just fine by just using what you find on the ground.

You should save your money and instead buy armor and skills when you need them.

Another thing to consider instead of buying a weapon from someone is to get one from a collector (NPC).

Unfortunately Miskav beat me to it, pick up every thing sell and salvage every thing.(you will need materials for better armor) and you will have some spending cash, not much but some thing is better that nothing....

Great idea there. Collector weopons are cheap cheap cheap. Can be had for the bargain price of a few monster parts.

But picking up and identifying is the best suggestion yet.

Do this if you want a quick boot from the guild. Begging is not a way to win friends and influence people.

pick up everything and merch everything. Forget about salvaging materials, plenty of time for that later and just sell, sell, sell.

ok, since you are in proph. ill tell ya the fastest way to make 5k. http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Cities_of_Ascalon

do that quest, then turn it in. the -50 life offhand is the only item in the game that has that mod, as such it is favored by players for specific builds. It is worth about 4-8k depending on where and who you sell it to. The quest is non-repeatable.

spend your money very wisely and good luck.
