Default A Guild For Runners?

I have heard about The Blue Academy (a guild of runners) and read that it has been disbanded. I really wanted to join them but since they disbanded, I am thinking about making my own guild for runners. But first, I have to know what you guys think. Just to say this more clearly. I would really like to make a guild for honest runners so that we can be recognized throughout the game.

1) Is this a good idea? If yes, why? If no, why not?
2) How many of you WOULD join this guild if i made it.
3) If you think this is a good idea. what would be some good names of a guild like this?

Thank You.

1) yes - because if you become a recognised guild of pro runners, then your services are trusted and people can rely on you to get the job done.

No - puts other potential runners (not in the guild) out of business.

2) No comment

3) [WRBW] We Run for Bread and Water.

1) a guild for runners as a brilliant idea because of the reasons posted above, but you would have to set up a fairly open forum and spread that foum so people know whos running what and when. You would then have to have a section with the running places with the names of the runners, running at what times, ect, but also with a competitve price so people use your guild for running. The larger the variety of runs the more customers you will get (by veriety i mean mission runs, area runs, dongeons... anything that can be run basicaly :P)

2) cant join am not a runner

3)No ideas for a name yet, but i will edit if i think of one

Its a brilliant idea, but the initial setup may be long and hard, and i would get some runners together before you actually go out and create guild.

I hope to hear more about this soon

If you are starting by recruiting outside runners ( and even if you start with good friends, this is pertinent later down the road) a few things to consider:

You are trying to make an inherently risky venture into something your guild is known for. As such, your Rep will be worth more than anything. Make sure your runners screen cap their jobs with names and who paid. Make sure you have a forum where run-ees can tell you who is doing their job and who is not.

As the leader of this guild, you will need to take swift action to squash any scam runners who make it into your guild. Check on their history if possible, and make sure your customers are above all happy. It will be a hindrance when you are big,,,it will kill the guild in the early stages.

Best of luck

If you fail, the run is free.
If you need help from the run-ees, either discount or free.

Those are two things that frustrate me when getting a run.

1. it does give you a more trusted customer when you become known.
2. dont run so no from me
3. cant think of one ill eidit if i come up with one
*the first step is going to be very hard, as not many will join, after that things will get easier but will still eb hard. you need to be able to get people to know your guild as well as keeping your customers happy, that should be your first concern. so if you do decide to make one GL.

^That. Find some runners and pitch the idea beforehand. No sense in going through the motions if no one is willing to leave their current guilds/sign up with yours.

But as Sindy mentions, you're also gonna need a lengthy application and trial process for your guild. And then the ability to monitor your members, trusted officers to help and multiple accounts to do surprise checks some of the more questionable guildmates. Not really worth the hassle, at this late stage of the game, if you ask me.

Smile One Step Further

Thankz a lot for these tips you guys. I was thinking maybe i can make a GW wiki page so that more customers would know at which forum to report any scammers. I know that this will take a lot of work in becomming whole and recognited, but i will do it!

I had this idea to also interview many runners in the game to see if they would join. Or to listen to what they think

I have one question though: Does anyone know any good forums? An easy one. Since i would want anyone to be able to post on it, it be better if there is a forum that s easy to sign up with, or where u dont need to sign up at all.

Thankz again for these tips guys. Now i am one step further in making this guild! Know i am SURE i want to do this. Even though i will have ti do a lot of advertising before i even create the guild.

Guild Name Suggestions:

> WTF Who Aggroed[RUN]

> Yellow Cab Service[TAXI]

> We Brake For[LFR]

> RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO[RED]

Just a few thoughts for comical names that might get your point across. I'll Edit and add any if I think of more.

only problem you may have is the fact that there are already established running guilds out there [RR]. Check the services section for their thread.

here''s a linky

The Blue Academy wasnt just a guild of runners, they were an Academy.
They didnt recruit any odd joe out of Kamadan, they vetted and trained each member, and didnt let them run until they proved themselves. Only then were they allowed to run and charge the prices they set and use the certificate to show they are good.

If you're goin to do it you have to do it right.

It's no point creating a guild of crap runners. Are you going to personally vet every one who wants to join? Go on every run they claim they can make to prove themselves? Will you accept trainees? Set up standard pricing for all memebers to charge?
It's not going to be easy to get famous unless you have the best players.

I Know that The Blue Academy was an Academy. But that is not what i want, I DOnt want an academy where I MAKE money from training runners, and then they leave. I want to make a guild, with professional runners, a stable guild, NOT an academy, where people come and go, when they finish their training.

And actually, what i had in mind for recruitment is, going into a city and ask any runner if he would like to join a guild for runners. If the runner accepts, i woul OF COURSE first test him/her on the run he/she claims to be able to run.
But thankz for the tip anyway

Now back to the initial discussion. I love the Yellow Cab Serive (TAXI) as a guild name. Thankz for that name. I also like the tag (RUN) but not really the name you posted with it

ANd could someone plz answer my question? Does anybody know any good, easy to sign up, forums? Or maybe a forum where you don't have to sign up at all?
I am thinking about how to create a scam free system or a sytem were customers can report runners that scam. If any of you have an idea about any sytem, plz feel free to share

I forgot to ask one question if I do go though with this Guild For Runners idea, what would be the best way to let the runners charge? SHould it be like a fixed price per run, so that if there is one person, that person pays more than if there were 4 people. OR is it better to charge per person? but then we would have to wait for a full party. OR is it better to let the customer choose?

Don't double post, and especially don't tripple post. Use edit.

Have set prices per party for each run, IMO.

Shadowform negates such a demand for runners.

Aye,best to get a few runners together first.
Have to get the size right though, doubt you'd have 5 or more full time runners, proberly maybe 2 offhand ones. Also make sure they can run.

If there is really a demand for runners still then i guess you could expand it a bit.

You should check out the services forums so you can decide on how to make your Origional Post, If you will be advertising in the forums. As a good introduction will be a benifit.
gl

Btw is it location to location runs or missions and dungeons or both?

Will you be standardizing your prices? Or will each member charge what they want?

Most runners nowadays do it as a form of making money. They arent going to join a guild just to run because those people who do run want to have a guild that does things other then running for when they arent trying to make money.

I personally dont think it will work.
Secondly, I wouldnt join even if i did still do runs

Just my opinion.

I will sadly have to agree with his point. And even if i wouldn't agree with him... some of these posts are just too depressing and i don't want to make this guild anymore.

unless any of you COMPLETELY DISAGREE with me... and REALLY want me to create this guild, I will not continue to do this.
(hope that many of you want me to REALLY make this guild )

If not, I guess this is the end!
