I think the real issue here is that you contacted Taiwan Support -point at bottom of email in pic- thats a link the the taiwan support, not english support.

And Babble fish isn't that hard to google then copy/paste stuff into.

I received the same email previously, and again today. I'm skeptical of it; I changed my PlayNC account password.

It is hard to google if you give the wrong name It's Babel Fish; the name comes from Douglas Adams' Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. He got the name from the Biblical town of Babel where everyone was meant to be so evil that God confounded their languages.

Honestly, I'd just guess it's someone trying to steal your account. When in doubt send this screenshot to Anet and verify it's from them. If it's not just delete it, if it is get them to re-send it to you in a language you understand.

They've used your login details and are trying to get a new password to make them technically the 'new owners' as you won't be able to log in.

Definitely contact Anet about this...

Easy way to check if this is a scam (and if it is, please notify Anet support!):

connect to GW and PlayNC using your normal passwords; if it works (most likely, I agree with pamelf) then it's a scam; if it doesn't, then you may have accidentaly requested a new password (go and change it NOW)

I had a similair e-mail lately on my secondary account.
According to the source it was simplified Chinese and it links to the GW website.
It seems to be coming from A-net from what I could trace.

What I'm wondering is if this is a way for hackers to verify if an account does excist or not. Entering an invalid address generates an error message.
Easier to do that then trying random e-mail adresses against random passwords.

I'm only wondering which site or database they might have accessed to get that e-mail address. Or did they do that trial & error and why didn't they hit my main account then....?

To Fril: look at the part in the message:
Quote:
after you've used your new password your old password will be invalidated.
This means the current password is still valid till you use the new one.
Don't use the new one and you will keep the old.

Edit 2: Also notice that you don't have to log in to reset your password, it's on the login part (Reset Password option).
