Default Green (Unique) Item Drop Rate

I know drop rate is dramatically decreased when you do not solo a boss. I heard somewhere that even if you have 7 henchmen/heroes/ppl/ in your group, if you send them away from the boss and you do all the fighting, then the drop rate is the same as if there was no one in your group. Does any1 know if this is true? Because I want to farm some greens but some of them are really hard to get to without killing enemies.

Loot scaling does not affect green drops.

The stories passed around are due to players not believing that they are just unlucky.

if that is true ^^ doesnt that mean i have the same chance of getting a green with a full party or just by myself? I want to know if i get to the boss with 7 henchies, send them away, then kill the boss, if i will have same drop rate as if i didnt have anyone in the party...

You will have the same chance at a green whether you are alone or with a full party. I believe that the flagging away of your heroes is an attempt to make sure that if the green drops, it drops for you.

But in reality, your chances of getting the green are the same. There are no guarantees.

A boss has a certain percentage of chance to drop a green whenever it is killed. It doesn't matter how many people are in your party, the odds of the green dropping are the same. But..

If it drops, it is randomly assigned to a player in the party. This could be you, another human, or a hero or henchman. If you flag your heroes & henchies out of range (so they are greyed out in the party box), they will not be considered in the "randomly assigned" bit, so if the green does drop, it will be assigned to only the players within range.

So, basically speaking, your chances of getting the green increase if you flag your H&H away.

And if you want to know what the odds look like. In 4,247 hrs of play over 33 months, I have had 27 greens drop.

And 8 of those were on CoF runs.

No I don't farm.

Wow Darcy, do you not farm them much? I've been playing a little over 2 years, and I had a bit over 100 greens, although I sold most of them off to get rid of some pvp mules to make more pve toons. I guess it just matters how much you farm and how much you keep at it. Holiday item farming, especially raptors, I can get her green 30+ times in 5 hours of playing. lol

The other day I was leveling up some heroes and their pets so I was having them attack bosses. I'd flag everyone to attack the boss/mob while I stood back and practiced my dancing skills.

I had three greens drop in a row, all for me. That was fun!
