Default Dyes

So I'm running aorund pre-searing trying to find dye.
I usually run around in a party looking for it, and in the few days I have done this I found zero dyes, I fought mostly charr, oakhearts and a few other things.
Today in 20mins of killing through reagant valley alone I found 4 dyes... -_-

My question is: Is there anything that factors into dye drop like being partied, level, what your killing?

Thanks

Drop the party and go solo. Although the game does not say so, items drop for Henchman, just like they get a share of the cash that drops.

Pre-Searing try:

*Killing the Bandits outside of Ashford Abbey at the camp located next to the field full of Plague Worms

*Clearing the Catacombs (enter from Ashford Abbey), at the very least, you'll get lots of Bone (crafting material), Skeletal Limbs (collectible drop), and Gargoyle Skulls (collectible drop), all of which stack up to 250 in one inventory slot

*Killing Aloes outside of the Barradin Estate

Depending on your level, and what profession you are, you can hack/cast through most of the enemies like a hot knife through butter with a few exceptions (in the Catacombs there is a lvl 3 Shatter Gargoyle that uses [[Backfire] - do NOT cast spells while this hex is on you, you can, and if you aren't careful will, kill yourself).

Personally, when I had a permanent Pre-Searing Character (Warrior), I did Bandit runs (between 1 and 1 and a half minutes per run) and Catacombs clears (longer, like 20 minutes or so) and generally got decent amounts of dye drops, lots of Bone (Undead in the Catacombs), Skeletal Limbs (Undead in the Catacombs), Gargoyle Skulls (Gargoyles in the Catacombs), and Belts (Bandits).

Or you know, he has dual accounts and solo farms ^^ I did that once.

I'm not sure if the party loot scaling applies to pre. I DO think that soloing is more profitable, especially as you hit level 4-5, when the Charr are the only problematic enemies.

I love questions about pre.

OK when farming for a certain item in any area of guild wars it is best to find out what that foe drops on the wiki.

Once you find the foe that drops the item in question simply eliminate the foes that drop to many other things.

So for example

1) Charr
- A Charr can drop; Charr carvings, gold, trappings, blue trappings that might include runes such as - Strength +1, Sword +1, tact +1, Fast casting +1, Illusion +1, Fire +1, Smiting +1, Divine Favor +1, Protection +1, Viate, Brawlers, Survivors, Radiant, Wilderness Survival +1, Blood +1 LOTS OF OTHERS...Meele weapons such as swords and axes and hamers..Caster weapons such as staffs and rods and off hands. Each of these meele or staff's might contain mods that can be salvaged such as pommels, strings, heads, wrappings and hilts - I think I forgot one or two. Also these drop All of the above weapons in Purple.
2) Dyes

now lets look at Bandit raiders...
1) drops are; Belts, Gold, Weapons white and blue.
2) Dyes

Again lets try scales
1) Drops are; Skale Fins, Gold, Weapons white and blue
2) Dyes

So here is your answer. The less a foe has to drop other things the more it will drop dye.
