Default Can I get these people banned?

Turns out half the buyers for zkeys out there are scammers trading 100g instead of 100k hoping someone would fall for it. I've just about had it with these retarded kids and every time anyone would agree at a price and tries to scam me on the trade window I take a screenshot of the agreement and the trade itself, like this:

(picture removed by moderator)

The thing is I've never been actually scammed, all I have is the intention since I never completed a trade. So does anyone know if anet's support will act on this alone? Because I have quite a few of those.

you can always try to report them for scamming.
(ps: lossless compression is your friend. I cringe at the fact it's not used by default. you can see compression in text all the time).

report them instantly is one option.
should they evade, you do have the SS, so post a ticket with Anet .. and add the images and copies of the conversation .. and watch Anet.
Those dudes will get a ban, temp or permanent. Their loss.

Looks like someone is showing off their expensive stuff

Yeah, its easiest to /report right away, but sometimes they run away before you can do that.

Haven't seen that style of scam in forever.

Lol thanks. I would /report them but I've always heard that thing was useless a lot of the times, so I prefer going through the hassle to contact support and to be sure they'll get what they deserve. What I was doubting is if it's worth, since the scam never actually took place because I canceled the trades, but from all your replys I'll try contacting anet then.

I didn't know you could report people for that kind of thing. I've had it happen to me before more than once the latest was some guy in ToB who tried to trade me 4k for 24 zkeys. When I said in all chat that xxxx is a scammer no one believed me...next time I'm going to take a RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing ss and post it here.

I don't think you can. What rule are they breaking really? For all we know, the person could have accidently put 100g up and not the 100k... It doesn't sound like a scam to me. There's a trade window that you get to look at, and don't accept the trade unless you know it's the correct offer.

I will repeat again...

UNLESS YOU ARE USING A HACK/EXPLOIT/MOD OR OTHER ILLEGAL PROGRAM TO PREFORM THE SCAM, THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT IN THE EULA!

How amazing would it be if you could leave feedback after a trade like on ebay lol, where you got a +1 for a good trade and a 0 for a bad and it followed you around on your name like the way your Guild tag does, but obviously the fun ruiners would find some way to exploit and abuse

So you're saying that it's ok to scam if no bots are involved? Would you like to say that to Anet and see what they say? Feel free to include examples where you've been scamming yourself.

it is illegal to scam. my bro got his account banned for 1 month because of someone thinking he scammed them.

after i sent a long winded email to to support they then reveresed the ban. so yeah, they will ban people for scams, blindly infact.

When was the last time you read the EULA?

But I'm not sure if they enforce those things. Once I sent in a screenshot of someone BLATANTLY harassing me (expanded the chat window to take the whole screen and it was filled with one guy sending me harassing messages; i did not reply) and support responded with "big deal, use the blocklist".

I believe they will suspend/ban scammers. However, two things to keep in mind...

1) It needs to be clear in the chatlog that the payment was supposed to be 100k, and
2) This is an example of something that could very well happen by mistake, although it likely wasn't.

In my opinion, it would only rise to the level of something bannable if you completed the transaction, then the guy refused to pay the rest of what he owed. At the point where you are taking your screenshot, both parties are still in a position to change the offered items/payment.

Maybe the person won't get a ban because of only this one incident. But if 5+ people report being scammed (or were attempted to be scammed) by that same person, I'd see Support at least temp banning that person.

Hybrid Meteroa and TheodenKing, my point exactly, even though we all know it's an obvious scam attempt, technicaly I can't prove it, that's why I created this thread. However, the 100k=100g was an example, my image was deleted but here's the fully censored version.

As you can see 68,000g is very diferent than 6,800. I can only hope support won't take rules to the letter and that they'll act on this even though it doesn't have 'SCAM' stamped on it. Seriously, I'm sick of seeing these kids running rampant without any punishment.
