Why do you need a guide to tell you how to buy ectos at a low rate and sell them at a high one, it's not complicated.

You need to buy items of which you think the price is lower then what it's worth. Then you sell it to someone desperate for the item, who is willing to overpay the actual price its worth. Taadaa, you just made some profit by just sticking an item in your inventory. I would use items as you can make bigger profit with them then just selling/buying ecto only.

PS: I think there have been alot of threads like this, first seach, then make a new topic. I would look at this thread as often as you can, cause probably will be closed soon.

Just sell them for about 4.3k each, or 23-24e for 100k.

It's quite simple, exactly like selling glittering dust / iron you got from doing missions, and if say you managed to farm 24 ectos you will make 100k on it.

Remember to clear out the gold from your inventory before trying to trade 100k, and be very careful to double check your transaction before hitting accept as making a mistake can be quite painful when trading 60k and up.

Its just a case of buy low/sell high and knowing the rates of a variety of items. Aside from looking up values of items, there is no real guide for it.

I recommend having just a few items that you become an expert on. Every day when you log on, check the value of those few items. This gives you an advantage when you go to a place like spamadan, since you can react quickly to a WTB or WTS, and you'll already know how much you are willing to buy or sell for. That edge is what allows some people to become very wealthy in the game. They react quickly and with confidence.

Next, keep your eye out for bulk purchase savings. As an example, a few weeks a go I saw a guy in GToB selling 20 Elite Monk Tomes. I bought them all for 5k each, and sold them for 7k each within three days. (Not a gigantic profit, but very easy item to sell, and I knew I could get 7k for each without a fuss).

or buy ambraces cheap, and sell them high.
just buy anything cheap and sell it high
a nice one is when event items drop go to rata sum and buy assa tomes for 50G and elite assa tomes for 500g
wait a week and sell them for 150g and 2K
you will get PM's from angry people, but you will get a lot of tomes to.
when keg farming still worked i got 1000 mesmer tomes in 2 hours for 25g each and sold them a week later for 150g each in a hour.

Example. Last week in Kamadan I was paroozing the wts list and I came across wts Everlasting automatonic for 30 ectos. I pm'd him still have, he did and I bought. I then listed the automatonic here on the guru for a sell out of 150K. I got it sold in less than a day for 37 ectos while not even playing the game.

I gave the guru member my standard discount and made 5 ectos on ONE of my trade items in the first minute I started to play that day.

So buy low sell high. How do you know what an item is worth? Check the auctions here on guru for "sell out" price of the item that you are looking to buy or sell.

Then act accordingly. It only takes a second. Oh and on really cheep things..don't haggle it will make the buyer mad. I was selling a Charrslaying Pommel in pre for 65K to get rid of it fast. Someone offered me 60K. I said forget it. they then said ok I will take it for 65K and I said the price is now 70K. They said what? you said 65K. I said you refused my offer of 65K and offered 60K so I changed my offer to 70K. You want it..its 70K. He was like keep it..so I did. I have it listed in the guru auctions now.

So the auction site is a perfect place to get some things for a deal. That automatonic runs in the 40-50 ecto range so the guy that got it off of me will make more ectos off of it.

Very immature. Are you surprised he got mad?
He tried to haggle you down a little....you refused...he then offered you your asking price.
In response you raise your asking price instead of selling it at advertised price? Had a buyer on the hook for your asking price and instead of reeling him in you cut the line? LOL
