Silent Surf is faster than Boreal, if done right (average ~4,2chests/3mins) and Pongmei is about equally fast. Pongmei generally gives better drops than Silent Surf and can easily be done with multiple accounts for even more chances of good loot.

Also, if you check your weapons for shittyness, you can id the ones that will be good yourself and sell the others unid. This way I'm currently actually making a pretty decent profit when dual account chest running Pongmei. The only things I id myself are shields (unless they are +5x while hexed, then I'll sell unid, depending on skin sometimes for 10-15k), rare weapons like Jugs/Paper Fans, rare staffs like Bo/Plat/Dragon staffs or q9 weapons that are +5 energy, which can usually be sold for about 10-40k a piece depending on skin. Rare martial weapons like Katana's/Broadswords etc that are q9-10 but not +5e, I'll usually id as well, just for the offchance of getting 15^50. But any higher req goes straight to the unid box in my storage.

Also, Elite Tomes give you quite some payback.

Thanks so much for the responses

Will I find the routes in this thread for Silent Surf and Pongmei?

Note for that Silent Surf map I made: a circle means any mob within that circle can spawn a chest.

Also, if you want the best chest/time ratio in silent surf, I would recommend finishing WoC until there are no more afflicted in the area (Cleansing Silent Surf I think it is), because it means that you can completely skip the alternative route, since it will no longer spawn any chests, meaning you will almost always get 4-5 chests, and very very rarely only 3.

Does the yellow dots on the pongmei run means where the chances of a chest might spawn?

Are most of these chest runs done in nm or hm? Nm would clearly be easier but would hm produce greater chances at max mods?

yes it's the possible chest's spawn (you've 5 chests on the map)

Whatway => you can do both, in HM you've more golds, elites tomes and better chance to have max mods (but you can have max mods in nm too)

Good to know. Between a sin and war, which is most versatile for running? I'm leaning towards sin for perma SF and better energy regen, but war's higher armor & damage reduction insigs are pretty attractive too.

Sin without a doubt is better... I'd argue that Dervish's are the best due to the perma 50% speed boost.

In your case though sin>war. SF supplies you with an ability to simply ignore groups by running through them as opposed to having to run around them.

warriors are just as good and almost as fast as sins, the problem comes down to energy regen.

and you can carry sf on your warrior.

Some inspiring moments during MQSC has me testing MQ for chestrunnability on my sin, which has been pretty fun (the pvx drok's runner build is actually fairly good for it). When I'm good enough to post meaningful/consistent times and average chest numbers, I will.

Remembering that I do have a derv, what skills are granting perma-50%? I'd love to take a VoSilence derv through some of these more common chest runs if I can do it that much faster. SF is spoiling me.

dstab & pious haste & teardown = up to permanent +50% ims

Since all that is in mysticism, you could still take SF and other shadow art skills like HoS, etc.

So something like:

Myst 12+1, SA 12, +20% enchant weapon

1 - Deadly Paradox
2 - Shadow Form
3 - <Derv Teardown Enchant>
4 - Pious Haste
5 - Dwarven Stability
6 - Heart of Shadow
7 - Shroud of Distress*
8 - Way of the Master*
*Replace one with IAM?

So I'd only need a low-energy, fast cooldown flash enchant. Good candidates to me look like Aura of Thorns (earth, area cripple), Conviction (earth, condition removal), Zealous Renewal (myst, e-management), and Grenth's Fingers (wind, condition transfer). Grenth's Aura seems like a good heal but is expensive. Shield of Force looks fun, but is also expensive.

Time to test I suppose.

replace deadly paradox with shadow of haste, replace way of the master with iau, conviction would be good

No perma SF + perma +50%? Or just use SF situationally?
