Default Sliver in UW

Ppl are complaining about sliver not being so effective against raptors (HM) because of the new way it acts - 2-3 dead and the rest at half HP.

But howcome it works fine in UW (HM) then? Shouldnt that be the same? Or is it simply because the silly raptor farmers cant survive long enough for Sliver to recharge in order to take away the 2nd half of the raptors hp?

I hope someone can bring some light into this

The problem with raptors is that the boss kills through most protection with touch skills and hard hitting attacks, making the new sliver ineffective. Before, sliver targeted the boss first (if you did it right) and killed the boss before she could do enough damage to kill. The way it is now is that sliver targets randomly, giving the boss enough time to kill you. The raptors aren't the problem, the boss is.

Unless they changed it, the new sliver makes the baby raptors scatter too, making it hard to kill just the babies and making the farm with sliver rather useless.

geez just typos, lol

It's called sLiver, not siLver. The L goes before the i.

They did scatter also before, but Sliver Armor targetted always the same raptor, so he usually didn't have the time of fleeing away before being dead. Now sliver hits randomly so they have all the time to scatter away.

Also, keep in mind that, since Sliver Armor now targets a random foe, the more foes there are, the more the damage is spread out among them.

This actually means that if there is no need to kill one foe in particular and you can stop them running by wedging yourself against a wall, Sliver got a buff instead of a nerf. More foes are alive for longer, so the rate of damage doesn't go down until they start dying, by which time they should all almost be dead anyway.

Can you explain how this works?

There's one of you, and presumably a large number of raptors? Unless the situation is something like you blocking a narrow corridor, or you blocking a bridge, I don't see how you can stop them from running away...

I've never been able to get it working (not that I've ever really tried) but it's to do with the fact that the foes will always attempt to run in the same direction. If you pin them against a wall they won't be able to go anywhere.

Look at the picture by CE Devilman..foes always attempt to escape on your right. However, the problem with raptor, as already said, is the boss killing you before you manage to kill her. In all other farming spots, sliver armor now works the same as every other AoE farming skill, like Spiteful Spirit for 55's for example (i'm thinking about Luxon Assassins pre-nerf, where you also need a wall to stop them from fleeing away).
