Default MKT, RPS, and /pickme

So Mad King Thorn just picked me for Rock Paper Scissors, but I never did /pickme. Does /pickme have any effect on his decision, or is it truly random and people just don't realize it?

It's just a myth that it increases your chances of getting picked

I think its a load of crap. But I do it anyway just because I always have.

For reference here...I may just be unlucky...but I have spammed it every time... I usually hit each event for the past 4 years I think I missed 2 of them last year cause i fell asleep...I have yet to be picked. I doubt it has anything to do with the silly emote. More about luck.

I'd also like to note that the Gw-en party district which I'm sure was at least mostly full had afkers picked at least 4 of the times. Assume a majority 85%+ were non afk. And it was at least 4 more most likely that I just couldn't find from my position. I would say its more luckness

this year i might skip a few xD

/pickme has no effect on who MAD KING THORN selects for R/P/S. Never has. No one did it the first his first few visits way back in 2005, but he picked people anyway. I've been picked several times over the years (one time, I got picked twice) and have never done the /pickme emote.

But many people agree that it's fun to do.

Was the highlight of my year when the King picked me for RPS. In subtle acknowledgement of each other's prowess at the game, we settled with a tie.

As he also picks AFKers, I would believe it does not help.

In my four (almost five) years of playing, I've battled Mad King Thorn 8 times (4W 1D 3L), and I've never used /pickme.

I have been picked, I was not doing pickme at all.
One year I was in a district with only 1 or 2 other players (and some afkers) and none of us were picked-he picked all the afk people (and we had to play all the instruments too...was kind of fun)...

so no doing the emote does nothing other than spam an emote.

I mostly just go along with the /pickme crowd for the fun of it though
