Default Red Resign 2.0?

Can anyone confirm if red resign is back. I have suspicion that gvg teams with low rankings are resigning for strongboxes. Also, is it legal? What will anet do to a guild doing this, if anything?

Confirmed. Take a look at the bottom of the ladder - guilds that manipulated their way to 600-800 rating, going 0-40 along the way, suddenly have wins. Go figure.

It's technically against the EULA, but good luck getting support to do anything about it.

Also, the 2 minute restriction doesn't do shit when the same people are on both sides of the match.

there is already a condition. strongboxes appears 2 minutes after the start of a gvg match.

imo they should add another condition. kill the guild lord then the strongbox drop.

and this rr day 2.0 was long before the strongboxes were added. gvg zq says hello.

meh, you have more gvg's possible because more guilds go in because they think they can face them for free rating.

Bad idea, players will resign just seconds before you kill the enemy guild lord, leaving you without a strongbox after a match.

Just see who is doing rr and ban them.

Make it so you need 1000 raiting or more to qualify for the boxes

Go in GvG.
if you're blue, the red team might resign. If not, fight them.
if you're red, don't resign. The blue team will either resign out of frustration that you aren't "following the rules" or they'll fight you and lose because they were on;y prepared for RedResign.

it's a system that actually works in favor of people that want to fight.

Not completely true. People who want to fight will usually win against someone who wants to resign, but the number of times that a person who participates in R.R. wins in a given time period is going to be a lot more than the times of players who actually fight. By design, those who want to fight rise, and those who want to resign fall, and those who want to resign group together so that they don't have to encounter players who fight. Sure, those who fight may have a few easy battles against those who would resign, but one battle doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things. People doing R.R. might complete ten or more battles in the time that two normal teams would duke it out, resulting in an average of five wins, yielding five times the reward as any winning fighting team.

If we're just looking at a rate of return from this activity, R.R. is a lot more productive than fighting. That's the biggest reason for why R.R. needs to be avoided.

Ah, so that's why that's happening...

Since Anet took an active stand to break RR v1, I think they will be a bit more active in avoiding it just being replaced with new ways of cheating. Especially now when it also lets people hoard strongboxes while doing it.

You knew what to expect with those strongboxes such easy to get though... Owait , rewarding dead hour syncers in codex with some coffers is a good idea too....

And anyway , people were already syncing zquest and totbags before , that's not something new....

well its why those guilds are so low ranked. And Red Resign isn't necessarily bad because you have more guilds playing (not just syncers) because they think they will get paired up with the syncers and get easy rating. So it makes dead hour gvg not completely dead. Last night I played till 5am est and still got real matches.

If anet does something about this, it better not be too drastic because dead hour in GvG will go back to 10pm est, like it was.
