Default Anyone here in the same boat as me?

Hey guys! I have a big dilemma. I want to get all of the rewards for GW2, but getting back into the game after the year or two I was away from it is such a big leap!

Anyone else want to group up start from the beginning and try to get all the rewards? I have a vent server. PM me your username and lets get something going.

I hate playing by myself.

Go to Great Temple of Balthazar and start doing Zaishen missions and bounties(not a must) daily.

When the Cycle ends you will have legendary guardian.
That will be 4 more titles in 58 days if i am not mistaken (25 + 13 +20).

Also if you vanquish one area per day (58 areas) i would go for Cantha and NF (33+34=67) some areas in cantha are just to easy to VQ very little foes.

At the end of 58 days you will get 6 more titles and lots of gold.
You could VQ prophecies but it is just endless....to many areas, surely not need if only looking for 30/50.

I am very close to Gwamm doing this. There is no need to grind since you got plenty of time to do it.

BTW doing ZM and ZB daily will grant you Zaishen coins which you can convert into sweet party or alchool.
Just aim for one either sweet or party easy to atain and with the money you get from all Zquests and VQ you will be able to buy the title if needed.

If aiming for 50/50 then when you VQ do cartographer as well it will grant you 4 more titles in the end.

+1 on zaishen quests/missions.

Im GWAMM and 50/50 but if i had to go back and do it all again thats definatly the best way to start because of the volume of players at them outposts during the zaishen days. You will find spilt missions like eternal grove alot easier as well.

Also i think Eye of the north PvE skills are essential also. Things like support sin to take down monks and pain inverter against aoe damagers like ele's make life alot easier.

Another very simple tip is turn off "postprocessing effects" in graphics. this will allow you to play the game drunk without blurred vision and you wont have to endlessly sit around waiting to max this title later. would say level 5 drink is a much simpler option than lots of level 1's after a 5. Party and sweet tooth u can worry about later and buy spam items for towns.

if your going for GWAMM forget about wasting your money on keys (lockpicks) as u will need the cash for sweet and party titles. Use the zaishen rewards to clock up zaishen keys and use them for zaishen title which will grant you your pvp title needed for HoM 50/50.

Only pain you have is vanquishing and carto which i definatly suggest doing at the same time. Really good tip for this is to make sure you always have party boost items such as Honeycombs or rainbow canes. that way if you getting stuck you can always go back for another fight, when to low on moral even best teams will struggle. Also always take 2 cons sets with you per vanquish/carto incase if you are not powerfull enough this should tip the odds nicely in your favor. plus con sets work on all party members such as heros and stay on you for impacted time as which personal boosts like candy apples etc dont, and if you die they remove and so you have to use again.

I recommand taking a SoS rt for these runs also as u can set up a wall before harder fights. you can check pvx wiki for some basic Rt SoS builds if your unsure how to set up.

As you go throuhg zaishen dailys you will be clocking up title points for other things like delver asuran etc also. Once you finished doing the above you can then concentrate on maxing the simple things in life like delver, lightbringer , legendary skill hunter etc.

Good luck

Oh and i forgot to mention, you will also probably be close to Vanguard, Delver, Asura and Norn titles aswell just from Vanquishing and ZB(dungeons).

Giving you 4 more titles.

Oh and make sure to have all books with you (hard mode ones)(shiros, flamesseker, dungeon and hero) to make sure you really get the titles maxed.

Don't forget as well that the HoM is account wide too. That'll save ya a heap load there.

If you have several toons with full Elite sets (top, gloves, bottoms, shoes), run them all to EotN and get that first tapestry from Gwen and dedicate those armors. If you don't, but some of the cheap elite sets to get you started.

Minis you can get pretty much anywhere and if you've been gone for awhile, you probably have a couple on each character. Dedicate all of them to get that mini monument finished up as well. Then whatever small spaces you need to fill, buy some cheap minis off players (ones you don't have of course).

Start War in Kryta for your weapons. The new Oppressor weapons can be dedicated and are usually cheaper than Destroyer/Tormented (though I think Destroyer are still cheaper by a bit or the same price). But going through War in Kryta will net you a good amount of Medals of Honor that you can spend on Oppressor weapons. Don't forget as well that Hearts of the North (after you do War in Kryta) gives you Medals of Honor as well. And it's pretty easy to complete.

As for titles, the above posts gave you plenty of options on those. Remember the HoM is account wide so any titles you have maxed (or the ones that don't need to be maxed to be displayed) can go up there as well and count towards your points.

Hero armor is easily bought off players. Or if you are the farming sort, start farming them. Sunspear is still the cheapest armor to buy and the easiest to get as well. And you don't need many of those to get that monument maxed.

That's about all I can think of really. Hope it helps out somewhat.

Except for Pogahn Passage in NF, which doesn't have a zaishen mission associated with it.

Also, take advantage of weekend events such as this weekend (double eotn points) to get your titles done quicker.

To get all the "Rewards" for GW2 ie physical rewards only you don't need that much 30 points as against 50 points for all the full hom.

30 points can be done pretty much without any title grinding at all, if your going for the full 50 points good luck you have some work to do.

Have you checked out the gw2 calculator showing what you need and what you get ?

Also note that its easier to get points if you stack them.

I'll use the Resilience monument as an example:
1 point for having 1 elite armor
1 point when you get to 3 armors
2 points at 5 armors (full display)
1 point for vabbian
1 point for kurz/lux (can only get this point once even if you have both kurz and lux)
1 point for obsidian

Obsidain is expensive, so I'll rule it out.
If you have elite kurz/lux, vabbian, and just 3 other random armors, you get 6 points total. If it was just 5 random armors, you'd only get 4 points.

And its completely possible to get around 25 points just from playing casually without thinking about it. And the last 5 points can be acquired with a small amount of effort.
I'm personally almost to my 30/50 and will be able to achieve it by maxing just 1 title (cartographer)

Okay - you guys got WAY too advanced for this returning player!

I have one character that is 5 years old. 4 that are 4 years old...... AND HAVE NO IDEA WHAT to do with them!

You have to remember that those of us that are returning Have No Idea What You Are Talking About when you talk about Eye of the North "stuff" (and in my case) Nightfall as well.

This is all new to us.......

Why do I want titles?
Is it better to dedicate your mini's or the monument? Or sell them for profit?
How do I get Elite Armor (or whatever it is called)?
Etc

Basic starter questions that are NOT Answered with a Tutorial (like a brand new player gets to learn the game.)

YES I know we can all spend HOURS even Days looking at the forum and wiki's - but please try to "Talk to us as a child".....

some quick notes....

Titles contribute to your honor monument...the more titles you have in intervals of 5 (5,10,15,etc) the more points you get to your hall of monuments. Titles consist of achievements like finishing a campaign, vanquishing all areas (completely cleaning out explorables of enemies in hard mode), etc.

Hall of monuments is accessible in the eyes of the north expansion pack. It is required to get the items you want for guild wars 2 as the monument saves your character name and your achievements.

In order to get to the monument for eyes of the north you will have to finish any of the other three campaigns.

Elite armors are end game content for any of the three campaigns...when you finish it for the most part you will be able to access a vendor in a particular location to obtain it or have enough funds or near too depending how you spent it and if you rushed through or not to access that vendor you obtained...it varies per expansion/add on.

Mini pets when dedicated contribute to your points in the hall of monuments so I would dedicate them. A few you can get a return on for selling as dedicated but its a hard sale unless you have a specific few.

The Zaishen stuff mentioned above can be reached at the balthazar isles on the travel map. I suggest going there and peeking around but a daily bounty is given in a few circumstances that will allow you to be rewarded for doing certain activities with cash, experience and zaishen coins (which can be exchanged for cash or coins which contribute to titles or give you keys to open chests for a chance on certain high end items).

visit hom.guildwars2.com and enter your name for a breakdown of the point allocation, i'm not gwamm but you can use my name for comparison purposes in the calculator as well.

i suggest doing all of the campaigns over like i have, after such a long break... you forget a lot of stuff in the game and that brought me back up to par with the rest of the community. also, if you really want to relax and read quest text the lore isn't half bad, 1 of the few games (ok the only game) i will actually do that in.. also the story in gw1 is connected to gw2. the cool thing about guild wars is it's expansive, but not overwhelming even to a new player imo. if you are ingame and have a question about anything just press f10 and you will see on the bottom right of that tab there is a "search wiki" just type whatever in there and it will search the best source of information for you.. keep that site up as you will probably find yourself going there often.

Ok I see your point.

Titles are for bragging rights in many cases though some give you skills that increase in effectiveness as your level in the title increases.

Minis dedicate at the hom then sell/keep/delete dedicated minis will not sell for much even if rare.
Note do not dedicate duplicate minis only one of each specific mini elite armour or weapon per account

Elite armours are available in certain areas of each game they offer no more protection but are much more expensive and ornate http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Armor_types

Do you want to start filling your hall of Monuments "HOM" available in the eye of the north expansion.
Assuming you do as this was the point of this thread you need to decide whether to totally fill the hom ie 50 points or to just get some of the rewards available for GW2

You take a look at the hom calculator here and decide.
http://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-gam...-of-monuments/

Titles will be required to get to a full 50 points.
To get to 30 you can pretty much do with elite armours weapons animal companions and getting your heroes elite armour.

Some titles are for your own benefit. For example, way back, I often thought it would be interesting to try to kill every foe in an area, but there was no easy way to keep track of whether or not you had actually found all foes and which areas you had done. So I was pleased when they brought out the Vanquishing titles. Of course, like most titles, it's relatively meaningless to display the title, given all the "runs" and "speed clears" that others do.
Other titles, such as the Asura, Luxon, etc. "race" titles are tied to skills and buffs that actually have an effect on the gameplay. Titles such as Treasure Hunter and Lucky can also affect gameplay.
Most of the rest are just e-peen, and again, given "runs" and the ability to essentially "buy" titles, they are essentially meaningless.
Quote:

Your choice. Minis have no affect on gameplay, so it's up to you if you want to keep them or not.

You gather up the materials and gold and go to the appropriate armor crafter.

But, best advice of all - use the wikis.

You don't have to finish any of the three campaigns in order to get to the hall, but you do have to finish the major quest chains of EotN in order to get the tapestries that will let you dedicate things at each monument. (Alternatively you can just buy them from players.)

Basically just ditto on what people before have said - you might want to spend some time on the wiki to reacquaint yourself with the game and the terms. Oh also, if you have access to MOX (have all three campaigns linked to one account), he already counts as having elite hero armor, so you can dedicate him right away. If you haven't heard of it already, there's a new feature called Nicholas the Traveler - basically he asks for a different bounty items each week and you get gifts of the traveler in return. Those apparently sell for ~4k each and you can get up to five (I've never had much luck selling them, tho I've never stuck around spamming my wts very long), so if you're short on gold you can try selling those or farming the trophy for that week. The prices fluctuate - just hit p when you're in town and see about what the market has decided.

Will try to speak to you in a way that you understand.

Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall are each stand alone games that can be linked on same account, allowing travel through each with any character that has reached a hub town, and has completed a certain quest. Eye of the North is an expansion that requires at least one of the other campaigns and being at least level 10 to travel there. In Eye of the North outpost, there is the Hall of Monuments. Having access to HoM lets you display your achievements from all of the campaigns.

The titles everyone is talking about, is what you receive when you complete things. ie: complete each campaign with mission and bonuses (masters), will give you Protector Titles. Completing them in hard mode, unlocked after completion in normal mode, gives you Guardian Titles. There are many titles that can be displayed. The titles you display in HoM will unlock things in GW2, if you buy it and link it to your GW1 account. Pressing H while ingame, shows you your progression on each title track.

As to what to do, I recommend picking a campaign and completing all the missions, capping elite skills as you go, and exploring as much of the map as you can. To assist you as to how to prepare, in chat, type /wiki "name of mission" (quest, skill name, item name, etc.). This will open the wiki page and tell you what you need to know about that mission, quest, etc.

Hope this is of help to you.

AWESOME info! Thank you all for helping this ole lady understand - I really appreciate the information and links!!!

EDIT = I JUST loaded EotN and can't find How To Get the Quests to get there???

I have found all kinds of info on the expansion (NPC's, titles, HoM etc) but not HOW-TO.

The character I am trying to get there is from Factions (Canthan SP?). Where is the NPC I talk to for a/the quest that will take me there?

I feel like I am missing Something Really In-your-face - but even the booklet that comes with the game says nothing about this aspect of the pack!

THANKS!

Hey guys.

I really appreciate all the helpful insight here! But I think what would help me a whole lot more is if someone can give me a checklist in the order i should complete them.

For example, I just joined a guild last night and the guild leader helped me out immensely. His checklist was

1. Get Nightfall
2. Farm all the skills doing Zashien and getting Bathlzaar faction so that my heroes can benefit.
3. Finish prophecies campaign doing both primary and bonus.

He never went any further, but what do you think of that plan so far? Can someone make me a simply checklist to go through I would find it MUCH easier! Also if I remember correctly from my years back.. Farming Bathalazaar faction to get ALL the skills would take ages...

Well I just bought Nightfall,

He told me to do Nightfall first and get all the heroes as they will really help.
