Question Dumb questions...

Hi,

I was wondering if you can see other players' skills in PvP and how to do that. I also noticed people can report what other players are using while they're using them? And lastly, how do you target the opposition before the match starts and they're out of range? I see other players in RA calling monk targets well before the match starts.

Thanks and sorry for the n00bness.

You can't see other players' skills (unless they are your teammates and they ping their template). You can call out a skill someone else is using by control clicking on the skill icon when they are using it (I've rearranged my UI, but I believe it's below the name by default). Calling out someone out of range is not possible I believe. In some maps you can stand close enough to the other team for them to just appear on the edge of your reach.

If your opponents arent too far away, try to hold the CTRL-key... that way you often can see their names and professions.

Also if you target someone (enemy or teammate doesnt matter) and that person uses a skill, you can see the corresponding skillicon under that player's name...

Thank you! And by "ping," you mean you ask them to CTRL-click their skillbar for you?

Also, opponents within in ctrl-click range can be easier to target via the default hotkey "C". You can use "Tab" and "Shift" to scroll through targets.

You can ping your skill bar by control clicking while in towns/outposts. While in explorable areas/arenas, the only way to do it is to:
1. Open up Skills panel (Default hotkey "K")
2. Click the Floppy Disk in the upper lefthand corner.
3. Select "Save to Template". This should open up your skill bar in it's template form.
4. Select the option, "Send to Chat".

In the case of your team mate, yes.

In the case of opponent, as stated above, the only thing you can do to ping skills is by control clicking them as the opponent uses them. You won't see there full bar, obviously, but the skill they just used, displayed as:

Bob Dole: Richard Nixon used I Will Avenge You!
(replace "used" with "is using", depending on if the skill is activating or already activated)

with the name of the player and the skill they are using being advertised in team chat. You can also use this to ping ally's skills if they don't send you there bar, but you have them selected.

The CTRL key will show opponents before they are in C (select nearest target) range. If the CTRL key highlights them, then you can select them with the mouse even if the C key can't "see" them yet. That might be why the OP is seeing people calling targets before he can "C" them.
