Default Sell my GW1 goodies?

Im planning on playing gw2. Have a lot of gw1 goodies collected over the years. Should I sell off or keep em? Bout 2k ectos worth of gw1 goodies. Is there any arguments to keep items or ectos?

So far there is no point if you are 50/50. Otherwise your currency won't carry over.

sell all of your items. get ectos. go into an explorable and drop a trail of ectos on the ground bread crumb style like hansel and gretel and take a ton of screenshots, post them here and then leave the explorable with all of the ectos still on the ground. that'd be gangsta.

if you plan to continue playing gw after gw2 comes out I would keep them (or give them away to friends/guildees) if you have no plans to play gw again after gw2 comes out--sell the lot and make those who have yet to complete their gw experience happier.

2000 ectos is something like $200.

If finished with hom and gwamm, you can sell items, and/or help guildies (It's basically what I've been doing since finishing both). BUT remember this, gw2 hits there will be some hardcore gw2 player who may decide that they want to get hom for the legacy items. I can picture plenty of gw1 to gw2 trading just like pre and post is currently done.

That's if you sell high-they fluctuate between $20-25 a stack.

On the bright side, you can use this money to help buy/support ANet in GW2. It's a perpetual cycle ^^

If RMT ain't your thing, give them away to people who will actually continue playing GW1 actively post-GW2.

You could sell them for real world money and then have your account banned.

The only thing from guild wars that can impact guild wars 2 is the HOM. Unless you are investing in that, what's the point?

when i got my obby armor i waited until we finished FoW and started dropping ecto randomly , some people left the once that stayed were so happy, i dropped about 100-200 ecto

for people still holding on to ecto when GW2 comes out, yeah i see no point , are you REALLY going to be playing GW when the new ANTICIPATED game comes out?

just give them to people that need it or friends

another thing i used to do was go to main towns or outpost and open trade with people at random

and like most have said RMT is an option, you could get GW2 CE with the amount you get from those ecto

I'm going to laugh if the code to unlock goodies in GW2 can only be obtained from Kimmes the Historian and some poor sod with 50/50 gets their account banned for RMT at the end.

Banned accounts won't be allowed to be linked to GW2 accounts.

But we're all joking about the RMT references, right, folks?

As was said, unless you plan to play GW1 again, they serve no purpose. It's like saving your coins from Mario Brothers.
