Default Strange behaveing of characters in fights.

I'm haveing this problem for years now, and up until today still never could get any explanation about it.
When i'm in a fight, only mouse clicking my skills, my character turns around and runs away from the enemie.
Every time i have to click again on the foe to return to battle, which is a bit annoying when you have a big mob confronting you.
Is there anyone that can tell me what is wrong?
I'm completely baffled. Even Anet never came with solution.

you can miss the skillbar with a click, and walk there, instead of using the skill which you tried to click on
if you set your skillbar all the way on the bottom of your screen, you still can click below it
so your skill bar cannot touch the bottom of your screen, even though it looks like it, as your mouse can get below it, same with putting them on the right side of the screen
